Please help - persistant crash crossign bridge into Weye

Hi All,

I hope someone can help - I've started a playthrough with a fresh install and batch of mods, however am getting a persistant crash when crossing the bridge into Weye. Sometimes I crash before I get off the bridge, sometimes I can get a little bit into Weye before the crash, but it crashes without fail every time :(

Hopefully I won't have to remove the majority of my mods and install one by one until I find the culprit - does anyone have any suggestions?

My mod list is below (I do have a number of texture mods that obviously aren't in the list). Also, AFK_Weye is a recent install that I tried on the off chance that it might fix the problem but it didn't, so this is not the cause of the crashing.

I think you need to rename your 05 MMM.esm in some fashion to make it fit for FCOM setup. It's mentioned in the post #1 of the official FCOM thread. Sorry for that totally stupid sentence. The MMM.BSA you need to rename, and I am quite certain you did. Sorry once again.

Then I'm not sure if 16 Alive Waters is good to use in FCOM setup. You may want to ask that specifically in the FCOM thread. Maybe better to use the similar OOO plugin, or there is one in MMM as well.


Not related to your problem, but I'm also not convinced that BA** FCOM_Archery is to be used together with Duke Patricks Combat Archery. Archery may become uber strong in this case. Maybe ask specifically in Duke Patrick thread.

And your Duke Patrick Melee Combat is not the latest version. And Quest Award Leveller is outdated in the sense that today there is http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39635 which works better.

Did you build patch in cbash? I ask because in one of my games, that caused a consistent CTD outside the IC stables.

Next, as Tommy pointed out, about the fish. I would remove all the fish plugins and see test that. Also, try the CTD spot with a new game or with a save inside the IC before testing.

Alive Waters is fine - I use it with an FCOM setup, and I've never had problems. I don't use OOO Water Weeds, though, so they might well be conflicting.

Does the crash happen every time? If so, it might be a corrupt spawn point: http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Tracking_Down_Corrupt_Spawn_Points

I had a similar experience and my conclusion was merely that those cells have to load a lot of data and the computer CTD's, In my case with texture replacers and a few local mods I easily ran into the 2g limit.
Using PCB or any of the mods that use this console command has helped.
Not running down these excellent mods but the moment I gave up running OOO or any other overhaul my game has stabilized to a near perfect run.

Thanks for the responses so far. I'll be testing the suggestions this weekend (provided I don't eat too much Christmas ham and fall asleep :wink: )

@Tommy_H - I'll disable the fish and give it a try. Thanks for pointing me to AULIAS, I'll definately try that one out.

@Peter ID - I had the same thought and tried a normal Bash as well, but same issue. Also, unfortunately the same issue happens with a new game. I'll try removing all the fish mods.

@ WalkerInShadows - I'll try removing the weeds as well. Yes, crashes every single time - very interesting article, as I use a number of mods that add spawn points (Tamriel Travellers, Crowded Roads, Immersive travellers, etc). And interestingly, when I get close to the crash point I can see NPCs coming into view in the distance or starting to move from static positions. You might be onto something there regarding corrupt spawn points.

@ JB. - Will try one of those PCB mods - I do use a hell of a lot of texture packs so a purge will always help.
