Please help me in my Plight

Post » Mon May 09, 2011 11:45 am

I created a Wonderfully helpful guide (according to the poll at least) yesterday in the General Discussion forum. It was just about to burst with replies and then it disappeared. Not to me, I have the direct link to the thread on my Bookmarks Bar, but to the rest of the community as a whole it no longer existed...

This Disappearing act was because the thread was for some reason moved to the "Multiplayer Discussion Forum" by a MOD.

heres the thread in it's current location
Fireteam Creation Guide - Created by MIND BULL3TS
http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1189456-fireteam-setup-guide-created-by-mind-bull3ts/

It is simply a guide to help players understand how to setup fireteams and use Voice Chat

-------------------
But MIND BULL3TS! Whats the problem with it being moved to the "Multiplayer Discussion Forum"? Id does have to do with Multiplayer!
-------------------

well any regular forum goer knows the majority of the traffic in any forum is the "General Discussion" forum, and being that using the Fireteam (voice chat) feature is fairly important to a game of this nature I think it would be in the Communities' interest (and the Devs/Publishers for that matter) for this guide to be much more visible in the "General Discussion".

If you want some numbers take a look at this:

Multiplayer Discussion has 1.65% the amount of replies and 5.90% the amount of threads compared to the General Discussion Forum

-----------------------------------------------------

As such, I formally request this be returned to its original location in the General Discussion forum...

If you agree please rely here and add your vote to the poll... Lets get this thread where it needs to be...

Agreed. I think the OP is forgetting that if someone really wants to know about fire teams and the how to's or even any questions about them, they'll probably head over to the MP section anyway. And if they aren't smart enough to know where to go, they wouldn't grasp your guide anyway :whistling:

So, vote is a no.

It was moved because it belongs in multiplayer. As the forum matures, people needing MP help will migrate to that forum to find what they need. In the meantime, the traffic in a forum has no bearing on where a topic should go.

In the future, if you have a question about moderator action, either send a report or contact a moderator that you see online. If you read the forum rules, you'll find that discussing a moderator's action on the forum can lead to a warning on your account.
