well guys i just bought oblivion for my PC. yesterday i installed it quite nicely but then i tried doing all the steps to get it to work with my XBOX 360 controller. it worked but i hated the controls so i stopped. then later i tried replaying my saved game and when it went to the main screen it was completely blacked out! i can only see my Health, Magika, and Fatigue meters as well as the compass but that is all . i tried uninstalling it and reinstalling but i have the same problem. any help guys?! please

All I can think of.

Well let me explain better. I click on the shortcut and it brings me to the main menu - it looks fine. then i click on "New Game" and the cinematics being. they looks and run smoothly. However, when the cinematic is about to end and zooms into the prison cell, and it brings me to customize my character screen, things get funky. I see the the box where the RACE and Face and all that is located, however i cant see my character or the background cell. after "customizing" (i cant see him) my character, its the same. the whole screen is grey-black. i see the crosshair, fatigue, magicka and health bars as well as the compass but i cannot see anything else. i cant see my character, the cell, the background, items nothign. the funny thing is this: when i press TAB it does bring up my character and i customize him there (take off the shirts and stuff) and i see all other menus such as the spells and that kind of stuff. when i press TAB again, i go back to the grey-black nothingess. Any help? last night it was working fine but it just became like this for some reason
