Please help me with fallout 4 peformance xbox one

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 1:05 am

Some one please let me know if there is something that might be causing my game to run so poorly. I dont know if you can call it lag or not but if youve watched the video on the fram rate drops for xbox one you know what im talking about. I cant ignore it anymore and there are some times and areas where the game is so slow that everything is delayed stuterey and just simply not fun. I really like the game and don't know if something is wrong with the game or my console. Some people say they are fine but I am not exaggerating when i say im not. And to be honest this shouldnt even be an issue unless i really did do something to make the game not run as it should. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Does the xbox version have settings? If so reduce the shadows. Its an easy way of boosting performance for less powerful systems.

You get a gaming PC, that is how you fix it until/IF Bethesda ever fixes it.

/jk......kind of, there is not much you can really do as far as i know.

Its your peasant console, its very taxing on both the ps4 and Xbox One. For the xbox they say to use a faster external drive or something like that. For the ps4 i use a internal sshd and ive only ever encountered fps drop once and that was i went to get a drink and when it went into view mode my jet pack decided to make the take off animation for about a min. When i came back my ps4 sounded like a jet plane and i had about 10 fps.

I don't have the same stutter as you so I don't know what's causing it. I keep my number of saves to a minimum and don't drop anything on the floor (Skyrim has taught me this) but I'm not sure if that's the issue for you. You can try clearing the cache to see if that helps.

I downloaded my game so I wonder if using a disc has something to do with it.

what do u mean by clear the cache? do you mean clear the saves because if thats the case while in game i deleted all my saves went to sanctuary where i everything runs smooth and then deleted the auto save and any thing else. Then i backed out of the menu went back in saved, then quit. When i reloaded and continued playing everything became the same

i was thinking about this but I don't want to spend my money on a ssd just because one game isn't optimized well enough. I'd rather just buy another game and hope it gets patched if thats even possible.

The isn't really so much an issue even though it does happen sometimes. I don't know how to describe it but its like when fps drops in a game and it isn't smooth at all sometimes for a bit of time or a whole combat sequence like when i fought the gunners near good neighborhood

Try clearing the cache to do this hold the console power button down until the light is off that clears it, and turn off all auto saves in the gameplay option, do manual saves only...and just keep about 3 to 5 save files only. And yes the framerate in certain areas is a issue?

Thank you so much, I will do this. I emailed Bethesda and they told me to clear my blue ray cache. He told me clear my persistent storage. Just ot clarify are you saying I can just hold the power button down until the light turns off and it will clear itself. I don't have to go anywhere in the settings.

Yep you bet....to clear it all you have to do hold power button down for about 10 seconds or until its off, don't try this on the controller...it will not work. Good luck in the wasteland!

Yea i looked it up online how to do it and there is another way dealing with clearing the mac adress. One guy said that method doesent work but I did it anyway. After doing this and a few other things i have noticed things have gotten much better. I have also been talking to Bethesda and i didn't think they would reply to me for a while or at all. But they did and told me some things. I am going to go through everything I know that can help. Once I'm done i will play for a few hours and i have a good feeling the issue will be mostly or completely solved. Thanks everyone

Yup. Clear cache. Manual saves only. Never overwrite a save. Delete the old save first. And don't litter the wasteland.

Experience from playing Skyrim.

getting tons and tons of lag. very low frames per second all the time.

Ill try deleting the old save and making a new one, sounds like a good idea.

I have all autosaves off already.

I downloaded the digital copy, so doing anything with the blu ray persistent memory wont help, will it?

Any other useful tips people know of to get the game to run smoother? I really don't want to buy an external hard drive, though I have read people saying it makes a difference.
