You can map every single control individually from the option menu.

I thought you could but I do not use a controller for this game.

I have adapted to using a mouse right handed, as I have had to adapt to doing several other things right handed. Takes some getting used to but I learned long ago that it's a right handed world that will not change everything just for me. :(

It's funny, I am left handed. I can't write at all with my right hand. However I use a Mouse or Game Controller with Right Handed mapping. I can even write my name using MSPaint using the mouse in my right hand (but can't do that with a Pen or Pencil)

I have tried using the mouse in my Left Hand and it just does not work for me at all.

One word Speedpad..they make left handed ones too...

Nice wrist support pad...all the buttons ( programmable ) you will ever need for FO3..or most any other game made.

I couldn't use a controller to save my life....I also can't use my keyboard for anything more then typing.

7 button mouse and 22 button N 52 TE Speedpad is all I need. ( 63 buttons if you count all the tiers) but 22 is enough

With a Speedpad all your game controls will be in the same place for every game....no fumbling for keys. Reload, Jump, Sprint, Movement etc will be in the same place every time...every time.

I doubt if I could still game with a keyboard...

The learning curve on those must be steep, but real nice when you get comfortable with it.

You can map every single control individually from the option menu.

Except you can't edit the anologue stick functions if you're using a controller on the PC. Like CCNA said, third-party controllers (e.g. Logitech) generally come with a utility to map everything to your liking. Unfortunately, a lot of games (including FO3) only support the official xbox360 controller, so you'll also need a third party emulator to trick the game into seeing your controller as a 360 gamepad.

Just to clarify, I'm actually asking about the console version. So now that it has been oficially released, could someone confirm whether southpaw / legacy controls are available please?

Southpaw, legacy and southpaw-legacy options are not available. However, if you go to profile > Game Defaults > Action and set movement to the right stick, it will override the in-game settings and allow you to use southpaw.
