Please, just shut up already! I'm going mad!

Post » Sat May 08, 2010 7:33 pm

I feel like pulling my hair out right now. I have an explosives profile who is waiting for Caesar to attack the Dam so I can go in and do my Yes Man stuff, and it's really really really really annoying me. People won't stop commenting about the battle! Some lines get annoying after a while, such as "The Rangers are going to show everybody what happens when we're pissed off!" but this one took the cake:

ONE GUY EVEN HAS THE FREAKING NERVE TO SAY(something along the lines of) "I just wish the battle of Hoover Dam would just start already! I'm tired of hearing about it!" You're a stupid NPC!!! You're not the one whose future is dangling from a rope for all eternity! I think I just broke a vein when I heard that. I think the NPCs are just torturing me on purpose. I know there is no point to continuing the game afterwards, seeing as most companions would be gone, a huge power shift of factions( for example, the Khans and NCR may leave entirely for example, if you oppose the NCR and force the Khans out) and it would be more deserted, but I would totally relish the day where idiotic NCR gamblers would shut up about their stupid rangers coming in and saving the day, and hopefully the one NPC who is "tired of hearing about the battle" is dead in a ditch somewhere.

So, since we won't be able to continue after Hoover Dam, let's make a compromise:
Spoiler
I say we be able to use Father Elijah's ending of DM,that way some of us can get some peace and quiet.
Brilliant, no? I get some peace and quiet, and the people who don't want to continue after main story don't have to!

I know, I know I'm probably just as mad as Elijah, but all the talk about the Dam is getting to my head. I really just needed to get that off my chest because it just grinds my gears.

PS: I'm not saying I'm in favor for continuing, theres' plenty of places to discuss that, and that's not my point. I'm just annoyed by these NPCs

I honestly think they should be silent until you actually initial a conversation with them, even if it's just a one-line thing.

I know I don't just blurt out statements that the people I'm trying to talk will most likely not hear.

You do know you can just shoot all the NPCs if you wanted to... might help relieve the annoyance. Massacre the town it helps, thats why fallout gives you the ability to massacre the town every fallout game I got frustrated with I just massacred the town and felt better then once I got my relief I'd reload and continue on with my quests.

I remember helping out the Powder Gangers in one of my early characters. I was walking through the prison on my way to see Eddie and this was how it went.

"You eyeballin' me?"
"You eyeballin' me?"
"You eyeballin' me?
"No NCR lawman is gonna have it easy if he comes after me."
"You eyeballin' me?"

It was at that point I knew I mad a horrible mistake and proceeded to murder everyone with a sledgehammer.

Glad Nelsonn is back in our hands. That'll teach them to mess with the NCR (or somesuch)

Gah! No, it won't! The NCR weren't even there! I did it all myself! Stop taking credit for my actions!
