I will not be so quick to download ANY DLC this time, since I think that something that is barely 1/100 the size of the game should be priced properly.
But of course, they can get away with it, so I'll just be more careful myself.

I thought knights of the nine was OK, definitely nothing special, and definitely not worth the price.

I used to buy games when they came out because they were finished products that I could enjoy. I have had to adapt my purchasing habits to the new industry standard so I will now no longer buy a game until the "Full" version is finally released (the one that has the base game, all the DLC, and the any expansion(s) all built in for about the same price the svckers paid for just the base game on release day).

The only reason I got Fallout 3 before the full version was finally released was because I found it for $10 at a Best Buy "damaged goods" table.

Just do what I do, wait until game of the year. Buy it, trade/sell older copy.

That's certainly an option.

I got it with the GoTY. It wasn't a bad DLC, but I couldn't see myself paying any extra money for it if it hadn't come with the game for me.

The best option if you ask me.

1. you get a fresh copy of the game

2. you get all the DLC

3. you get a new poster

4. you have a physical copy of all the dlc

Yeah. I found just a straight melee class kinda boring, so I was always a battlemage who specialises in light armour and swords, so I was royally boned for KotN.

I like how people take GoTY for granted...

Not saying Skyrim could possibly svck, but more cataclysmic events have happened before...

I also think all melee is boring, I always use magic and a sword. Can't play no other way, tried and was boring. My Crusader armor was light armor so it worked perfectly for my magic thief type character.

This is probably the one time I′d like to see a poll, and I′d like to see it ask "Do you think KonT was rubbish ?" Because I′m fairly certain (like 88%) that there would be more "No" votes than "Yes" votes. At least I myself would vote for "No" since I liked it.

Perhaps, but I seem to be missing the point of bringing casual gamers and their preferences into it.

I was implying that this DLC was made for the casual gamers. Since it caters to their preferences.

I don't like the whole DLC thing. It's like, here instead of a nice big expansion take these random bits of extra content that together costs as much but offers less.
Now we did get Shivering Isles for Oblivion so that's nice, but concerning what Fallout 3 did and what New Vegas seem to be doing i'm not that happy.
The general trend nowdays seems to be that after you've done a game you need to release half crappy DLCs. Dragon Age even had DLC restricted stuff in the retail product, greedy [censored] pigs. :verymad:

I'm not sure I'd draw the same conclusion, even as a combination melee/ranged/magic player; or at least I didn't notice. I'm also a bit unsure about the "casual players" remark: isn't that a little condescending?

I agree, even though the DLC is not priced nearly as high as expansions but it is still overpriced. Dragon Age's DLC was free when you bought the game, they only did that so they can make money off the people who bought it used.

Hey Horse armour was so good that Bethesda at one point doubled the price for it, about 2 or so years after it was released.

Spoiler
Yes I know it was a joke because all the other DLC was for half price when Horse armour was 2X the price

We can all agree it was rubbish.

Are you KIDDING!? I loved Knights of the Nine. It was fantastic even if it was short and didn't add new landscapes. Whoever was disappointed must have a fundamental lack of appreciation for the lore of the game. Judging from just about every single one of your posts I've seen on the forum, I'd say that's accurate.

I rather liked Knights of the Nine. It wasn't outstanding, but as DLC goes it was adequate and never intended to be the expansion Shivering Isles was.
