Please make clear about Skyrim Remastered

Post » Sun Jun 19, 2016 8:30 pm

Sorry guys....I'm in a mood for devilment.....soooooo.....

'Of course it is only fair that PC players with digital downloads get the new edition for free.........because as has been made very clear.......PC players make mods. I am all in favour of this big time.....

We know there are like 10 million 'ish steam users for Skyrim......so that means of course 10 million active mod creators.....

That means...if I read the arguments correctly.....that the vast army of (non-paying) mod makers can provide us with at least one active mod creator per 3 consolers. Yay!

Can someone please send me the e-mail of MY mod creator contact.....cos there are a few special ones I want them to make for my Contessa.

:D

PS....feel free to wade in....I am expecting to get shredded :cold:

Except, I wouldn't pay $14.99. Even for the 64 bit .exe.

Well, keep in mind that a PC is the same platform, even if you buy a new PC. The PS3 and PS4 are two seperate platforms. That's one big reason why you can't get a free upgrade or copy.

That of course would have been your prerogative, which of course is a moot point as they did not charge PC players... I on the other hand would not mind paying that much, then again I might end up paying more....depend's on the wording and the way they do it. I have the disc anthology.. not the download from Steam, so does a verified Steam account ...count or does it have to be the dig. download... frankly doesn't matter... I'll pay for it If I have to.

:hehe: I'll be paying for it anyway... cause x-box 1, also...

When was that ever the case if you care to elaborate? Because as far as I see it Bethesda tailored their last few games to fit console players, not PC players, made especially apparent by the clunky, console-oriented interfaces and controls on PC.

If you are talking about the price... Well, that has always been the case for most games. PC games are simply cheaper in most cases, I can't remember the last time I paid 60€ for a game, not even Overwatch which goes for 40€ as a PC player.

Let's all keep in mind that most PC users ALREADY have access to mods AND graphical enhancements. The price we'd pay for SKYRIM SE would be solely for all the Xpacks bundled should we not have them, and access to 64-bit. My Skyrim already looks better than what was shown using ENB, 3rd party texture packs, SMIM (3D model enhancement) and so on.

Console users get access to the game on a stronger console, use of Mods and workshop, and pre-enhanced graphics so you wouldn't need to try and get ENB working for those effects.

Ditto.

Last game I paid release price for was Bioshock: Infinite and before that ME3. I didn't do it often. After those two, I never do anymore. I wait for bargains, sales, or 'Complete' editions.

Honestly, I won't be upset to buy the game for my PS4. After all, Skyrim was out so long ago, now, that paying for the game again is no big deal. At least, that's how I feel about it. I'd be more upset if it was released only a year after original release. And with the possibility of having a version of Skyrim that runs well and doesn't crash (really, my copy of FO4 has only crashed...twice? Since December. So that's saying something), the money would be well worth it.

As many copies as I have had to get of Bethesda games, this is nothing. Really. I have no idea when I'll get my new PC and I never had Skyrim on the old one anyway. Will be content to upgrade it on XBox One and get a PC copy when I get my new one. I didn't expect anything for free as the new Skyrim is for a new console, not the old one. PC players getting it for free if they already had it? I'm all for it. It may bring some modders back. Who knows!

I don't see anyone wouldn't. It's cheap as heck, i'd jump on it in a heart beat.

Keep in mind that PS3 and PS4 both uses the same Network under sony, it's not that difficult to see on who's account if you bought dlc's for the PS3 version for skyrim and give out a good discount. Sorry but that's a lame excuse

Well guys just a moment.

According to the all above statements, PC will not pay anything for getting Skyrim SE. That's fine with me. Okay, salute to Beth for that.

Now, no one wants to pay the price.

Should i ask, why a gaming company would make a remaster for free? :P

With that in mind, i could say this: Anyone that purchases the TES V SE will get a 50% discount on the new released TES VI! (whenever it comes out)

Fair enough? :D

so, I realized that I often see people on these forums say they didn't get Hearthfire because they didn't think it was worth it..

well if any of those people are around at the moment and play on PC, may want to grab it at the upcoming steam sale, considering the free upgrade is specifically for those with "all the DLC"..

Those are two totally different platforms with different hardware specs and parts. Even the game is not the same, it's just the same title. With all the changes in the programming to get it to work on the PS4, and Xbox1, it's not even the same program. Only the content and the title is the same.

And like other people have said, Bethesda has to make money somehow from making this product.

Oh man, when TESVI finally comes out years from now, some nutcase is going to quote you on this and throw a fit because it wasn't true! :D

I guess, i will see you on the other side then.

I thing Skyrim deserves it. But only because of this! :P

I thing some people aren't aware, that Beth just resurrected Skyrim, like a Phoenix from the ashes.

If I'm not mistaken that was the dream of thousands of people.

This needs to be said

Something tells me that the Special Edition release in October will coincide with the TES section of these boards moving to Bethesda.net.

Me too. Plus we PC users might have to log into Beth.net to activate mods to play like FO4. :(

That's going to be a deal breaker for me right there if that happens. Right now, the "new forum" is already kind of a deal breaker because it's so.... unfriendly. I already have to use steam which pisses me off. Having to go to beth.net to activate mods? Nope. Never going to happen - I'll just play steam-version 32 bit game forever.

It's definitely a deal breaker for me. I hate doing it for FO4, it's such an inconvenience. I'd rather stick to my old but faithful copy.

I've never heard that PC players need to log into bethnet to activate mods for FO4. A quick google search turns up nothing on it. There is a gopher video that talks about installing FO4 mods with nexus mod manager but I didn't see anything about having to log into Bethnet.

Can you post a link to a site explaining this requirement or how it works?

When you click on mods on the in game main menu, it asks you to log in to Bethesda.net.

Edit: Okay I was wrong you don't have to log in to use nexus mods. But you do have to log in to use the mods hosted on Bethesda.net. So it's sort of like Steam with the workshop, it's optional.
