Please Patch Properly

Post » Thu Apr 02, 2015 2:14 am

after 15 hours, i finally figured out why the infinite loading screen bug continued to happen too me....

when trying to play at 1080p full screen the bug occurs, but turning on windows mode in 1080p it doesnt, yet, because its not borderless windows, it looks horrible and annoying. ( please also add borderless window mode in a new patch )

so i later found that in fullscreen i can play 1600x900p and not get the bug. this means to me that skyrim was not fleshed out fully on 1080p fullscreen mode for win8 or 8.1. please try to fix this.

I'm afraid you're out of luck. Bethesda is done with the game, there will be no more patches.

Even if Bethesda hadn't dropped support for Skyrim 2 years ago, why would they add support for Mantle? Especially considering that Mantle API is dead and never really established itself in the 1st place.

Edit: Granted, if Mantle were an actual established API, and was out prior to Skyrim's release, I would see Bethesda using it. Mantle claimed to have improved performance over existing APIs, adding support for a API that has yet to get it's feet wet, in addition Bethesda would have to learn a completely new API, it doesn't seem worth the effort.

There is a mod on the Nexus that will give you a borderless window - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36177/?. You will need SKSE to run it - http://skse.silverlock.org/ in case you haven't already installed it.

FWIW, Skyrim runs just fine in 1080p resolution on my Windows 8.1 machine.

1080p works fine on Windows 8.1 for me as well.

I highly doubt we will see any more patches made for the game itself since they have moved to a new project a couple of years ago.
