Whilst looking at in-game footage I noticed a few things regarding XP rewards points. Within the game I saw that there are numorous ways of stat boosting which scares me a little bit about leaderboards. When I saw that someone was low on ammo they, (person giving ammo) received a significant amount of points for just handing it over. This leads me to believe that they have the ability to automatically "stat boost."

Or when someone is down they can repeatedly keep downing themselves so long as they have syringes available, or they can have their other friends on the other team whom have made a faulty character (PS3 since they can make as many accounts as they want for free) allowing them to group spawn kill giving them all massive amounts of points. Will there be a limit as too how many points you may receive based on in-game session, as well as actions supporting teamates?

Also there is a power bar(Supply) you need to use powers. It will slowly recharge so you have to be semi judicious in your use of powers. You can't be throwing out heals all willy nilly.

If there are no leaderboards available, then what growth will players receive other then in-game options such as clothing, accessories, or weapons?

All leaderboards do is cause people to compete with themselves for kills which does not benefit a teambased game

Well, being a good team player and helping out other players is the fastest way in the game to earn XP. So if people are trying to boost, GOOD!
I've definitely been hoping that the team playing XP bribery that is going to be in this game works as intended.
It could potentially turn the type of players that I hate in other games into people I want and need on my team. :tops:

As far as I see it, then they will get their arses handed to them by legit rank 5, and all will end well.

Imagine that! Playing a game for fun... what a profound concept!

I miss the days where you unlocked nothing.. everything was there from the jump and people played for fun and the thrill of winning.. not the next unlock.. Times change I suppose.

Whaaat? I get what you're saying but playing games for unlocks can be totally fun. As long as you don't have to grind for hours on end just to get what you want. Playing games with unlocks can change up the way someone plays a game and add a different level of fun.

Not only that, but I absolutely hate leveling up, it's the worst part of playing today's shooters for me...

As for me I absolutely love leveling up and opening unlocks. The more the merrier. But done in a way that's fun and doesn't feel like grinding. It takes talented devs to create a game where it has a large level up and unlock system, but is so fun that you don't feel the grind.

Its a console world now. If you take out leveling you might as well take out multiplayer. I think its funny people are concerned about tracking their pub stats too :whistling:

Call me a bit of a hypocrite but while I hated that people boost in COD, here it's no big deal. For one you level either offline or online so if people were to boost, it will not be to ruin our games.

For two even if you do boost to get to 20 before us and what not and if I read up right, this does not help you. Not only will you end up knowing less on how to play then others of that rank but if you do try to play wiht lower levels the game will restrict skill access by rank.

In short, boost if you want, it's just not helpping you in the long run.

well regarding the ammo bit, a soldier only has a certain amount of pips, so he would have to be healed every 3 seconds, which by then would become a major inconvience. Even if he had a medic with him, the medic would soon run out to. That would lead to them scurrying away to find someone else to desperatly heal them. I dont think people will really focus on doing things like that for leaderboard ranking because its wiped after every game.

It's drop-in drop-out play.

Only REAL way I can think of to "boost" - as in "be as unhelpful to the game as possible while improving your stats/XP would be to join a match, pour ALL your pips into co-op bonuses as fast as possible, then drop out and go to a new match to do the same thing (instead of waiting for supplies to regen.

If it takes longer to get into a new game than to regen your supplies, though, even that won't work.

One thing to note - boosting in games like BC2, involves tactics like joining a HC server, choosing Medic, and constantly damaging/killing teammates, and healing/reviving them for xp. In Brink, FF damage results in losing xp, so tactics like this may not prove very effective. It also helps with griefers.
