Please say Dodge Roll is in and useful

Basically the biggest "fear" i have is that there are unavoidable knockdowns or other incapacitations that cannot be remedied. Reason beeing that they are counterintuitive and highly frustrating in a competitive game.
Every Action should have a counteraction.

Someone slides in, you dodge roll aside.
Someone throws a molotov, you roll to avoid the knockdown (but still get the damage)

Or extremely diminishing returns at the least !!!

Otherwise you get what is typical these days in shooters, Situations where you are helpless and get owned without a remedy. (Airstrike for example)
That, for me at least, is not fun.

What do you think ?

dont think there are rolls as the devs want u to always be able to shoot and rolling doesnt let u do that. i could be wrong thou

No rolling of any sort. This isn't really a third person shooter. I don't like getting dizzy either...

You slide, vault or wallhop.
Someone is sliding towards you? Jump the **** out of the way and hail him with bullets.
Problem solve, there is your "counteraction".

And they wont be adding roll now, it's pass it's gold.

This. If someone is sliding right at you, You can just jump backwards and rain down bullets. In that case the enemy is basically just saying 'I'm on the floor, Before you, Oh flying one, Let the bullets rain on me "

Personally the only time I'll attempt slide tackling will be from behind/sides to blind side people, Or on heavies. Heavies just deserve to go down. The bigger they are the harder they fall. I'll make them live up to that.

There is no rolling. Sliding around the floor can be seen as a substitute though. It's also an attack because if you slide and hit someone they will get knocked down, but knocked down enemys aren't defenseless, they can still shoot. And the slide is dodgeable( is that even a word? ) By countering it with your own melee attack or just by moving out of the way. Brink has no flaws >:U

Part of the "always able to shoot" you can probably shoot while slide tackling. Rain bullets on the enemy then knock his corpse over.

If it can be avoided by jumping then that is cool. Countering a slide with a melee attack, as mentioned by a poster above, would be epic.
Some skinny speedy gonzalez wannabe tries to slide into a heavy and they just swat him with a gun and move on.

The auto knockdown of molotovs still persist, anyone knows if it has diminishing returns when multiple soldiers chain molotovs ?

As soon as you're knocked down by a slide or molotov, you can choose to get straight back up.

It's up to the player how long they stay down.

Staying down means you can keep shooting accurately, and you're a small target, but one melee hit will incapacitate you. Getting up gives you a massive accuracy penalty as you stand, but avoids the risk of a nearby enemy finishing you off with a single melee attack.

But yeah, just because you get knocked down, doesn't mean you're forced to stay down.

Nobody knows. It will be a subject of investigation by the Brink Mythbusters team. Along with various body type combinations jumping onto one another while sliding to see which body types can bodysurf one another.

Hopefully not, already got enough divers and scramblers in Gears. This game has enough jumpin around in it.
