Crysis 1: Awesome game which had physics, MAXIMUM graphics, the campaign was in a open world where you could actualy decide how you would play it, it had vehicles AND it also had nice weapons!
Crysis 2: You have simply made it into a console game. The nanosuit consoles are now exactly like if you had ported the game, because the consoles doesn't have the same keybind options. Also there is the fact that it says press enter to enter menu, at the main menu. Have you ever seen a non-ported game say this? propertly not, because thats what ported games have sold.

You promised the PC community that Crysis 2 wouldn't be affected by consoles, but guess what? you LIED in our faces. The prone is gone, the tactical gameplay is gone and it seems you have simply just rebuilt the call of duty game and inserted the nano suit. The nano suit doesn't even make you fell over powered anymore! you can't do epic combos like going speed mode, shift to strength to jump high, changing back to speed and rush around in the landscape this way. You can't even stay in armor mode anymore, because this actualy drains your energy. Besides the armor mode is REALY over rated, because it takes NO time to shoot through it! You have even ruined the story line. Why would the goverment nuke the aliens? in the first crysis they found out they just empowered the aliens by nuking them. Also the aliens are way different in crysis 2, they aren't at all the same.

I would not say you could call this a Crysis 2. The only thing this game and crysis have together, is that you call the suit you are wearing a nano suit. Please say something Crytek, please let the pc community know that you haven't simply just failed us and just won't admit it.

I'm tired of seeing these common misconceptions about Crysis 1 v. Crysis 2.

Crysis 1 was not open world, any more than Crysis 2 is. For much of the time, Crysis 1 had you running down linear roads with very few options to take. Admittedly the places where you did have options was on a larger scale, but there are more options in Crysis 2, and you don't need as a big a space as you were rarely given in Crysis 1. In fact, in the original game, I think were several completely linear levels, where as in Crysis 2 I don't think there's a single one without "tactical options". Just because Crysis had trees and cliffs does not mean it was open world. They actually fenced you in.

I also fail to see how Crysis 2 is as consolized as you all seem to be qqing about. Yes there are fewer options, but actually the removal of the radial menu has made the game far more fluid. And you can still make the awesome combos. A couple of hours ago I chased after a patrolling C.E.L.L. in stealth. He through an archway of some sort. I sprinted to the arch, ran along the top, power jumped down, changed to stealth mid-air, landed, spun round and power-smacked him in the face. I could never have done that in the original game with the 2 second delay the radial menu causes.

And it's not as though losing the radial menus is the fault of consoles. BioShock 2 had a perfectly implemented radial menu - losing it in Crysis was a concious choice by Crytek to make the game more fluid.

In case you don't remember, armour mode in the original game actually got shot through pretty quick too...

The government tried to nuke the Ceph because there was no dome, so they thought it justifiable. Rightly so, there was no dome to absorb the energy this time...

Also, while the Graphics options are disappointing, wait until the DirectX 11 patch comes out. Crysis 2 is ALREADY on a better level than the first game in terms of visuals.... For the graphichs options just download wasdie's app...

What actual diference does it make to you, really, that it requires you to press enter to start? Oh and last time I checked consoles have no enter key.

And yeah, you're plain misguided about the tactical options: in almost every case Crysis 2 beats its predecessor in this sense.

Hmm yeah, well in some ways I can see where you're going TantricOrange, however, I strongly disagrees with Crysis 2 being better than Crysis 1.

First of, the gameplay:
In Crysis 1, you felt like you were a super soldier, where your normal mode was being bulletproof by having armour as your default mode, where you even regenerated energy faster, while the other modes was some tools you had when you needed them. While in Crysis 2 your normal mode is... that's right, nothing. Of course this comes down to personal preferences - however I personally like the Crysis 1 way of doing it.

The Singleplayer campaign:
Let me start out by talking from the amount of fun I got from the two games. In Crysis 1 I've completed the campaign 4 - 5 times, and it still keeps being fun, in Crysis 2 I've completed the campaign 1 time, and I don't intend to complete the campaign again - ever.
But why is that one might think, well I believe there's two primary factors; The first one is because of the way the campaign is designed - that everything is the same environment, the whole freaking game is placed in one urban environment, you get tired of it in the end! I remember that one of the missions I liked the most was the one in the park - why? Because there was trees. The other factor, of why I don't like the campaign in Crysis 2, as much as in Crysis 1, is again; Because of the gameplay not suiting my personal preferences.
Then there is of course a lot of secondary reasons like almost NO DESTRUCTIBLE BUILDINGS! And no freaking awesome looking landscape filled with crazy Koreans to snipe from a cliff.

Finally the Multiplayer:
In a lot of ways I like the multiplayer, however I got two BIG problems with it. The first of them is that I've played it before, not gonna play it again, I mean really, not I might make a lot of you guys mad, but to me its ONE BIG RIPOFF of the CoD genre, just with nano suits. The other problem is, correct me if I'm wrong, that there's no freaking vehicles - i know that most, if not all of the maps wouldn't support them anyway - but really, why???

Agreed Teh-Ohm! and the missing vehicles indicate even more that the game is a freaking CoD ripoff. You don't even feel OP in your suit anymore..

Keep crying.

I see no problem with the game being based on CoD-type multiplayer.. CoD is a HUGE success, and Crytek have improved upon it with tactical nanosuit options and dynamic menouverability. It's not a ripoff of CoD, it's an improvement upon it.

yeah, cod-style multyplayer is a nice base for any game. it's a nice invention, i think it's ok to use it. like to use a mobile. i dont know anyone using old-school phone.

bout crysis 1: it's not a game, it's a huge superdemonstration of cryengine first of all, gameplay, storyline, etc, wasnt a part of the good game. rly i dont believe that anyone used suitmode menu. i used it for a few minutes, during tutorial before i found that i dont need anything but armor.
sandbox was boring and empty, i can't understand why everyone love it so much. rockstar sandbox is awesome.
ah, also this feature, destroyable environment. nice, but it wasnt important part of gameplay and was annoying.
original storyline was made couse any game needs it's own storyline. i could write it. or my grandma, just using words like "nano suit", "tropical isle". "aliens" etc. i didnt complete campaign yet, but i know it's great.
AI. so sad its same.

i can see that crytek did a great work anolysing mistakes. they should concentrate on multyplayer.
