I said it was a piece of the pie. :)

If you have other stats comparing COD4 v. MW2 play on the PC, feel free to post it. ;)

@Talon
MW2 and MW are both Multiplattform, so you can't just take this "piece of the pie" and call it a good comparsion. I can give you a good comparsion: MW2 did sell better than MW. And that is what counts in the end. Now you can tell me that MW2 was only successfull, because MW1 was. COD:Spec Ops is about to release. And the preoders are immensely high. Is this because people didn't notice MW2 was bad? Or perhaps, MW2 wasn't that bad.

I say that anyone who plays MW2 shouldn't count as a PC player. Sorry if I offend any not-so-gay MW2 player. They might as well go play a damn console for all they have done to that game. How can any true PC player support such a horrid excuse for a game. IT BLOWS, anyone who uses a noobtube go shove it up... I think you guys get the rest. So to all of you MW2 players out there (who like to use any of these pitiful excuses for weapons), screw off with your noobtubes, LMGs, knives, wall spam, nade spam, rpg ****, C-whoring, gaymoring and camp **** with your buddy in a corner.

COD is a menace to PC gaming. That in itself makes the whole franchise a fail. I dont care how well it sold to those console idiots.

They nonchalantly dodge all the questions PC gamers ask of them and then they have the audacity to tell us, after all our waiting and disappointments, that it's worth it to buy their game because we've got "custom things" like "mouse support" and "text chat in game" -- things that have been standard since DOOM.

Yeah, if anything Crysis 2 on consoles needs to flop big time so they'll come back to those who lovingly cherish what they make. They've said it themselves, "A PC gamer will forgive you for a minute and a console gamer for a second".

They know exactly who they're selling to. Console (well, I'll be forgiving for the PS3 players and go with Xbox 360) gamers consist of nothing but children given by their parents an electronic babysitting machine.

I came OUT of consoles. I upgraded from an Xbox 360 for Crysis as it is right now, CoD4, Team Fortress 2 untainted, Counter-Strike 1.6, etc.

It hurts to see companies doing this. Not only turning away from the PC community but taking a big **** on the competitive community with the mockeries that Modern Warfare 2 and Bad Company 2 were.

At the very least it's part of a cycle which goes like this:

PC Makes Something Innovative and Amazing
Consoles Steal old PC Tech for Their Falsely Advertised Next-Gen
PC Gaming Reaches its Height
Consoles Peak in Popularity
PC Gaming Wanes
Console Gaming Dies
PC Makes Something Innovative
Consoles Steal...

dude, seriously... How can a pc game be a menace to pc gaming? lol... that makes no sense at all. Just because they've introduced peer2peer matchmaking and some people don't like it, doesn't mean they are a menace to pc gaming. Secondly, console gamers are no idiots, in fact, you make Pc Gamers look totally immature and dumb by talking about "the evil console gamers", because this is simply not true. Actually, the true idiots are "we pc gamers", because we didn't manage to boycott the game properly. Besides, you should know, that a company doesn't care whether it sells more or less to a specific plattform, as long as the profit in the end is fine. And other companies will sure follow MW2 seeing how successfull it is. I mean, how different is, BC2 from MW2? They do have DLCs. They are console orientated because they didn't release that gamemode which is only available on consoles. You can't just put your hate on one game or company.

Actually yeah. It was after Modern Warfare 2 came out that I noticed a nosedive in effort towards competitive play. Modern Warfare 2 reinforced my predilection for Crytek and Crysis, and it made me realize that nobody really cares about making a quality game as long as it sells well.

Console gamers are idiots. Have you ever tried to argue with one? Seriously? I've played on the Xbox 360 before. I have owned an Xbox since it came out, I bought it for The Elder Scrolls IV. I've played Halo 3 for two years, CoD4 for 3, and World at War for 1. It isn't a fun platform to play on because of the sheer amount of children/douchebags.

The Xbox 360 at least is an electronic babysitter and companies know that which is why they cater to MicroSoft. MicroSoft pays them to release games geared toward ADHD ridden children.

Can you honestly say, looking at Crysis 2 videos, that it isn't consolized at all?

Usually when a company cheapens a game to get more money, if that is what Crytek is doing (following the status quo and breaking down genre barriers and really just shunning their audience as a whole), then they'd better be doing it to amass enough money to release a game that transcends the boundaries of making a good game and selling good.

That didn't happen with Halo 2 and 3. It never happened with CoD2, 4, and 6. It will most likely not happen with Crysis.

How can you blame PC gamers for despising change if this is change? Change to what? Easier gameplay, consolization, noob tactics.

And by the way, people on this forum who want to corrupt Crysis with killstreaks, noobtubes, etc. GTFO. You're not a Crysis player.

Before I begin about previous Crysis MPs, let me just point out that I'm also a Crysis fan.

Fact of the matter is, Crysis' MP has always been dirt. Yes, dirt. It was never anything special, just something they felt they had to release.

With Crysis 2, they're (as far as I've understood from what Cevat has said) reinventing Crysis MP with Crysis 2. And that's good! That's really nice. Obviously, I don't want them to make a "noob-oriented" MP for Crysis 2. What I want is a proper MP experience and Crysis MP has failed to have a long-term appeal and even the short-term appeal is, well, really short. It's just not exciting enough. It's just not good enough.

And for the love of God, it's time to make something proper! Something they could be proud of, something they don't need to hide from the public, something they don't make for the sheer sake of making a MP for the game.

And frankly, can you disagree?

Thank you

I came from the PC market to console in 2005, then back to PC in 2007 for Crysis. All i can say is that i will never touch a console port again, and that the PC community is much better. Bobby Kotick is a menace to PC Gaming. All he wants is our hard earned cash, in any way possible, he even wants monthly subscriptions for an FPS, and says that the community is "clamoring" for it. He has disgraced the franchise, disgraced the PC community, and he is an embarrasment to former Infinity Ward. Activision wouldnt even pay off Infinity Ward their hard earned bonus cash. They are a bunch of corrupt assholes, that is all. They develop for the console, put it on the PC, get rid of anything that makes the PC version unique and fun, and say that "the PC community will be better off with IWNet. They have caused every PC gamer to beg and cry for dedicated servers, that dilemma has even hit this franchise, which is reknown for the special attention the PC gamers get.

What makes BC2 different? They care about their community. The gamemode being console only for now sure is one hell of a middle finger, but it makes me smile when i look at the stats page for BC2 and 9/10 players are on the PC. DICE supports their games, EA doesnt rob them of bonus cash, and the game is innovative. Despite the many flaws it has, the game was innovative, and it has attracted the PC community together, despite DICE giving the console community extra goodies. Bad Company 2 has innovation and brings something new to the table, while Modern Warfare 2 is nothing but one giant egoshooter for those that dont know what a quality game is. I have not seen a GOOD game since 2008, but Bad Company 2 is sure one **** game i can play until a good PC game comes out like Crysis 2.

Creating a user friendly experience that as many people as possible can enjoy should be the objective of every videogame developer. Don't care what any snobby elitists say, games are meant to be enjoyed by everbody.

Do you know how embarrassing it is to have to ask for something that's been the status quo since 20 years ago?

It should be that console players are demanding the same quality of gameplay that we do instead of dragging us down! I don't blame them directly, I blame them accepting lesser. They shouldn't have to accept lesser than we do beyond the natural boundaries of their console. Of course gameplay will be different.

And noobish things in the new Crysis just piss me off. It pisses me off that they think people are so bad that they need to put cheap things in to make the gameplay "fine" for those people who are weekend warriors and never actually get into the game. People who do get into the game should feel insulted that the company underestimates their intelligences that much.

Games are not meant to be enjoyed by everyone, they are meant to be enjoyed by their audience. The Elder Scrolls III appeals to the hardcoe RPG crowd, Crysis appeals to overclockers and people who want a good mutliplayer experience. Modern Warfare 2 appeals to noobs. World at War appeals to people who like World War II. S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat appeals to people who like RPGFPSs that are very difficult.

These boundaries of gameplay, this idea of making your target audience happy is going away fast. Bethesda already lost it when they n00bified The Elder Scrolls IV.

Games. Are not. For everyone. Games. Are for. Their respective. Audiences.

Developers are simply trying to make that audience the whole world and it's embarrassing to them, no doubt, how terrible their games are.

Well, I'm back to The Witcher because there's no possible way that those dirty console gaming peasants ruined it for the glorious PC gaming master race as you people like to point out so often that we are pretending to be.

Except we aren't.

You are right. However, i dont want to see Crytek forget about their roots like oh so many companies have done before. When i came from Console to PC in 2007, i was astonished at what the PC gets. Absolutely astonished at all the extra stuff, dedicated servers, the community HELPS you out, there is no yelling in voice chat, the modding, the maps. I was astonished and i wondered why console didnt get some of that stuff... Console players dont know what they have been missing out on, and sadly, the PC community is being dragged down because of this. If every console player came onto a PC for one week on a game that VALVE or Crytek makes, they would start demanding more of their own versions. The problem is that console players dont know what they are missing out on, and sadly the PC version becomes more like that underdeveloped console version every year, "because it sells".

So why are there so many different styles of music beside pop? Because any style like metal, rap or whatever caters to a different audience. Whilst pop tries to hit a broad mass, that doesn't make it better for people who prefer metal ;) So there is a right for sub genres to exist. And some people might not like that it's shifted towards the mainstream. It's the same with many music fans who complain about a band moving to match towards the pop genre. And please refrain from using that word "snobyy elitists", because I'm really sure you understand that this doesn't apply to many people, who are just fans of a special subgenre :)

What I always liked about Crysis was how PC friendly it was. Now that the PC no longer has superiority, I'm not buying. And since they said if something is only possible on PC it won't happen on consoles, that means no dedicated servers, so hell no.

Read over your statement again. You seem to be excluding true gamers from everybody. And snobby elitists? All I can do is laugh at you people. Have fun with your noobtube.

Hopefully true gaming will continue to live on, as of now the only decent games to speak of are CoD4: Promod, CS, Crysis(though no one plays it), and pretty much any game that was made more than a few years ago. Consoles have irreversibly damaged gaming. It is such a shame that the deciding factor for most people is the ease with which they can kill and how skill-less they can do it. I guess it is following the current mindframe of the not so self-reliant person these days.

dont worry big B, theyve seen alot of posts AGAINST this kind of gameplay, and all i really want from C2 is: ability to be modded, a good story, good graphics, realisticity, dedicated servers, and once again NO KILLSTREAKS or powerful nubtubes like MW2... the nubtubes in crysis are perfectly balanced, with a steep arc, and low damage (without a direct hit)
