Ditto same phobia, I will crush the spider base! Spiders are just too good and scary an enemy I like a little fear in games, so I'm all for the evil spider clan.
Please do NOT remove spiders.Oh,I have domatophobia I think we should delete all houses from the game!Come on guys, youre lucky to have such a strong fear while playing a game!Might even help you conquer your phobia!Phobias CAN be cured.

I hope you notice that I said I WANT the spiders. Since you did quote me.
I have aquaphobia(Fear of water), imagine how i felt swimming to the shivering isles in TES IV. I also have to turn around when I find a pool of water in a dungeon.
Maybe, if its not a main quest you can just run away? or do something similar if you find any other spiders.
so i was looking through the gameinformer info and saw that one of the enemy types is giant spiders. Well the problem with that is i have very severe arachnophobia. Every time bethesda comes out with a new game, i hope they leave out spiders but it looks like i know i wont be getting this game months before it comes out. I guess the point of this thread is to ask bethesda to remove spiders from the game... or even just reskin them to look like some other insect.
i have the same thing you should have seen my reaction when i saw a rad scorpion in fallout 3 but still nothing a good heavy piece of metal cant hack apart or maybe just send it ablaze from a distance and laugh

No kidding, the first time I saw a Radscorp I nearly **** a brick. Between those, ghouls, and many of the locations associated with a post nuclear wasteland made the first playthrough scary as **** for me. Luckily I had my anti commie slogan spouting US Army robot to make me feel at east. Then with the Marshes of Point Lookout filled with deformed inbred hicks and no robot buddy I was definitely creeped out.

the thing is that i have no problem with scorpions its only spiders.
I have a fear of big arms....I had to burn my GI after seeing that arm!
(it's true this thread has become a phobia fun house thread) :celebration:
I also have a fear of oblivion gates...I developed it after diving into a few millions of them...I can't get the flames out of my head! :flamethrower: bliviongate: bliviongate: bliviongate: bliviongate: bliviongate: bliviongate: bliviongate:
I guess arachnophobia is more common than I realize. I think some popular monster mods actually include an arachnophobia option, which removes spider-daedra and other crawly nasties.
I say bring on the crawlies! The freakier the better. The more they terrify me the more I will want to stick an axe between their eyes!
Sorry I understand your fear I had a accident and had to have several injections into and around my eye which left me with a phobia of needles for a couple years but I worked my way throurgh it, and you must do the same, lol video games r probably your easiest way to start to deal with it, it's a game they are very common n interesting you can't expect everyones fears to be panded to other wise no fire no high places no loud noices to confined spaces no open spaces no mandatory swimming, even large bodys of water, where do u stop.

What's gonna cure your arachnophobia faster than driving a sword into the head of a spider? Nothing, that's what.

Well if they pandered to every phobia, there wouldn't be much game. "Oh noez, we have to remove the color yellow from the game because of people that are afraid of the color yellow!" (Real phobia btw)
honestly, I'm afraid of heights, and blood-filled dark dungeons. although, I love it when I get it stuff I fear into a game. why? because I feel connected to the game, and feeling this kinda fear just pushes the immersion one giant step further. Hell, if they were to remove them, It'd make the game feel so empty, so plain
I have the same problem as the OP but mine has to do with blondes and brunettes, can the devs please remove them from the game to and only leave me my beautiful redheads?
I dislike spiders as well. I mean, a lot. I go sleep in another room if there is a particularly large one.
But, in fiction or documentaries I actually find them interesting, because they have this creep factor. I remember seeing 8 legged freaks mostly with my eyes closed and very creeped out, but it was a fun ride.
Just remember that they arent real. Try to use it as something that gives the game that extra bit of spice, chills down your spine.
Try not to avoid any and all confrontations with what you are afraid of, it will only make your fear grow stronger. Tell yourself it is just pixels, there is nothing real about them. Use it as a way to help make your fear less. After all, you get to hack em, shoot arrows at them, or set em on fire with a spell
Exactly! I'm absolutely terrified of spiders,, even tiny ones, and daddy-longlegs. However, in games and movies,, I find them intriguing! Not to mention the sheer satisfaction I get from watching them die
This thread has become something of a joke. Have any of you guys played a horror survival game?
Play Dead Space, you will never look at other games quite the same.
Spoiler
There is this part in the hospital part of the ship. You walk into this surgery place and there is this chick standing with a bonesaw and she is sawing aimlessly into this other guys guts, giggling as he coughs up blood and dies. Then she turns to you and slits her jugular with the saw. I had to pause the game and leave the room for a bit to recover.
No no no. We needs the spiders! We wants the spiders! Weee loves them sweetly. The scarier the better like in DAGGERFALL TES 2 yes 2-2-2 please do keep nice spiders in game. We will thank you lots!
Spiders have never scared me in real life since i always knew they werent the viscious sort unlike those..crabbies.
I know exactly how you feel. If I see a spider in my room that is more than a few centimetres big, I freak out and have to call someone. I don't know why, but my heart beats like it has to beat faster than a light can blink (that's approx. 100 times a second), and I get somewhat paralysed. Even if I see a big enough spider on an image I get a bit (no a lot) frightened. On TV, for example.
On a slightly different note, I played Dragon Age: Origins, and the spiders there didn't bother me too much, even though they were bigger than a human; that might even be the reason.
When people tell me to svck it up, "It's just a little spider," I seriously want to... *censored* Phobias aren't rational and you can't just ignore them. It's like telling a person with a mental illness to stop twitching or something, IMHO.
You know what professionals do to help people get over their fear of spiders, they put a big ass spider on them and tell them go breathe. The only way to get over your fears is to face them, then you realize how they're not so bad.
