so i was looking through the gameinformer info and saw that one of the enemy types is giant spiders. Well the problem with that is i have very severe arachnophobia. Every time bethesda comes out with a new game, i hope they leave out spiders but it looks like i know i wont be getting this game months before it comes out. I guess the point of this thread is to ask bethesda to remove spiders from the game... or even just reskin them to look like some other insect.

Spiders just spilling out of the walls and crawling up your pant legs and knocking you down and enveloping you.....That would be cool in Skyrim. Also after your enveloped by the tarantulas, then the BIG spiders come out. Shelob anyone?

Well I'm pretty sure that a lot of religions would object to their being a pantheon of the Nine Divines, or having demon worship. I'm pretty sure that there are also people who are afraid of minotaurs, piranha-like fish, zombies, skeletons etc. But I'm pretty sure that this hasn't stopped Bethesda in the past.

If that isn't a convincing argument, then think of this as a way for you to face your fears and get rid of your arachnophobia, either that or play on the PC and mod it out :P

IMHO just get over it, the game is far too late in developtment for Bethesda to pull spiders now. Besides they're VIRTUAL, they are going to have absolutely no affect on you in real life. If you see one just make sure you have a big axe. You don't hear of people with Hydrophobia asking game developers to remove water in the game. They get over it and have their characters swim anyway. Same with claustrophobics, many will still dungeon dive and people afraid of the dark play when it's night and go in dungeons with no light. Bethesda aren't pulling a monster because some people are afraid of spiders

Lol, a giant spider made of tons of tiny spiders. Diabolical!

Imagine arachnophobics fighting a couple giant spiders at the same time in realD 3D lmao.

I have these common house centipedes that once in awhile appear and quickly scurry across the floor with uncanny speed. If one surprises me, I scream like a little girl. Fuuny thing is, I'm a cop in ny that battles bad guys everday with little to no fear, but a tiny insect turns me into a scaredy cat. However, the all time worst is cockroaches. I see them in apartments at work....sometimes 100s of them crawling on ceilings,walls,etc...and I freeze in absolute terror...

While we're bringing up claustrophobics, why not agorophobics?

Skyrim must be a perfect balance between closed in areas and open spaces and have very few NPCs.

I'm not a big fan of spiders IRL and I certainly wouldn't want to face one that weights a metric ton, but I really don't see why it's such a big deal to fight one in a game. They don't move the same, and in a Bethesda game I doubt they'll be very hard to kill. Plus I get the feeling they're one of those enemies that you probably won't face more than once or twice in the game unless you intentionally go looking for them. Fighting a giant spider IRL = terrifying; fighting a giant spider in a video game where your character can probably take on four at once = pedestrian.

I feel ya. I was on an ongoing war against the evil creatures in my last apartment. It was awful!
