Did you forget Skyrim has infinite quests?
Did you forget Skyrim has infinite quests?
Skyrim only had 30 quests that counted as side quests, most everything else was some kind of faction quest, or a misc objective, which are not quests.
MAYBE MAYBE NOT
Ah, yes. Fetch the Dagger of Sentimental Value from the Cave of Mild Discomfort.
Considering you can be a cannibal by perk, die when you are out of breath underwater and a couple of other perks and things that would be spoilers, it is rather safe that you are not a synth. You can eliminate it by logically examining the stuff we know. It would be a huge illogical stretch to suddenly find out you are indeed one.
Wow, color me impressed. That's substantially more than I was expecting.
I suppose everyone would be super paranoid of an organization that can replace anyone with a sleeper "synth" or robot that is near indistinguishable from a regular human, and may not even KNOW they are a sleeper agent until activated. It would make it hard to trust anyone, and easy to believe the Institute has infiltrated numerous organizations to steer them to their own benefit.
All I hope is that the moral choices aren't blatant good/bad choices. I hope there's a lot of really tough decisions to have to mull over.
Okay guys - we're getting very close to release and there's only so much Bethesda can do to put a damper on the leaks coming out - it's not going to get any better before the 10th.
Remember that if you go into a thread discussing plot elements that not everyone is now making guesses - you're likely going to be talking with people that have seen leaked info and spoilers by now. We can try to keep as much of a lid on this as possible, but realize if you're going into a thread like this that you could be exposed to spoilers. (At this point, any topic about speculation is likely to have some degree of spoilers in it.) Here's some helpful hints that make everything easier:
Please don't quote spoiler posts and then complain about them. You're just making more work if I have to edit the post in question and then edit your post as well (editing the original post doesn't update the quoted post in this forum software.)
Please don't try to be cute. Things like "I can't tell you anything but I'm going to beat around the bush to the extent that I basically am telling you everything" doesn't fly. "I'm not going say anything but I can tell such and such and this and that didn't happen" is another example of a no-no, if that makes any sense. It's just annoying - put it in a spoiler tag if you have to get it off your chest.
If in doubt, put it in a spoiler tag. Better safe than sorry at this point. Generally, we're not going to warn and suspend people for making what seem like honest mistakes - purposefully putting out spoilers or trolling is going to get you suspended here until after the game comes out at least.
Edit: In other words, if you're making predictions about the plot in a thread, realize that there's people on here who know more about the plot of the game by now than just what's been officially shown. And if you do have excess information, you do have to remember that not everyone wants that spoiled right now - you are the one with the extra information so you have a responsibility to not ruin it for others on this forum who may want to experience it first-hand but still want to have fun guessing at it while we wait for release.
Considering right after the whole "The Institute finds you," line, we see the protagonist killing Brotherhood and the Prydwen crashing... why wouldn't you assume destroying the Brotherhood isn't an option?
I believe that you are a synth and you were created by the institute. It would be a good plot twist to the players who chose to work against the institute.
It's in fallout lore that Vaults were used for experiments. Would also explain why your character comes out of the vault not knowing that it is 200 years in the future. I guess the big question will be. Why were you chosen to be recreated.
Actually to add to that I don't even think that you make it down to the vault. You can see in the footage that the bomb goes off while your on the entrance. When the Vault Tech guy comes to the door and takes your info I bet they figure out who would be the best fit to recreate in the vault.
If you know the plot from leaks please don't tell me if I'm wrong or right...
Given the level of opposition we have seen here about being a synth I have to believe Bethesda would have had some discussion about making the protagonist a synth, and faced similar opposition in house. They may even have consulted focus groups about it and I think they would not have chosen to make the PC a synth based on those results. I haven't seen much support for the idea on any forum or thread, and those of us opposed to it are almost vehemently opposed.
If I get to the end of the game and find out I'm a synth, it would literally ruin not just everything I just enjoyed, but replays too. Why would anyone want to replay knowing they are a synth if that is the only outcome? You couldn't ignore the story because you would know what you are. The level of self delusion would be off the charts.
Railroad are hippie do gooders, Institute is the evil industrial complex, BoS the necessary evil military, and Minutemen the conservative civilian militia that can be taught to get along.
Thats a good point. That would ruin your 2nd play through. Didn't think of that. Perhaps because of that reason, your not a synth...Guess we will find out soon enough.
