It's been a known issue with Pluggy since the HUD elements were added. It doesn't look like anyone is going to be able to fix the problem.

Damn. I hate it when people resurrect old threads. To answer your question though, it doesn't look like anything more is going to be done with this, considering Haama hasn't posted anything since January. He's the one that took over from Elys, who's no longer modding for Oblivion.

132 was considered fully stable (as stable as Pluggy has ever been since the HUD functionality was added), so you should use that.

XP, pluggy 132 (no-hud),obse 18

I've been fighting with this pack of bytes for last two weeks , and it winning still. In casus of mine pluggy has not writting its data correct.
Well...if someone has similar problem
1. There is the file in obse/plugins cat. made to raport of pluggy suspicions about the save. So , unknown pluggy user, if you've found something intersting in this
file propably you should back to the last save made BEFORE you opened the location. All saves have made in this location might be broken too.
2. Save often and always on new slot.
3. Remember - corrupted saves are crafty - its may attack after some time.

Well I am inclined to agree with the doubters on 132, I have no technical knowledge of what the cause is because I have never really studied pluggy (and as mentioned above its unlikely we will ever find out now), just went with requirements for whatever I needed in this regard and watched out for stablity .... With pluggy 132 I have tried it on two occasions (most recent last week when starting a new game). On both occasions I have come across a problem with starting the dark brotherhood missions, in that first instance of murder when you are supposed to be seen by unseen eyes - With pluggy 132 installed (and using one of T.I.E's innocents as the target wandering in the country) that does not trigger. On both occasions reverting to 125 has solved the problem and Lucien pays me a visit after the next rest. It took me a while to remember last week how we solved this last time when my eldest daughter also experienced the same after starting a new game and trying to initiate the DB quests. On the same machine I started a new game, same problem, then remembered something about pluggy and realised it was one of the few updates recently so reverted again to 125... problem solved.

This is such an old seemingly un-supported topic though I thought it pointless to mention, but if there is new interest theres my 2 cents of experience with 132, personally and only for the reason above (I have no other negative experience to share about pluggy 132) - 125 remains my version of choice for reliability.

For me wrye morph doesnt work with pluggy v132 but it does work with pluggy v125b

Pluggy_Test_-_DX_Fix-23979 whatever this does it worked for me for now :)

Probally cursed myself. Bruma Gate Quest Completed pre maturely on me.

CTD's has not happened though. I only use Scathe so hopefully in future pluggy won't be needed :)

You know what?, I just decided to go pluggy free - Just had a good look around and theres practically nothing I have that really needs it anymore.

Cobl, thats it. And pluggy is not really needed for that.

All I need is OBSE for launching and a few mods that use OBSE... but the following; FastExit2 does not need pluggy like the older version did, Elys Universal Voice Silencer doesnt need it, OSR doesnt need it... Thats about all I can think of that could have been likely candidates and just perusing the list in the OP I have none of the others needing or even just using pluggy if you have it installed. I remember when it was very much needed for quite a few things I used, but surprised to find right now... its not.

I am glad this topic was dragged up again if only to review why I am using it.

Wow...

Could the mods please clear off all the flies surrounding this thread... everything from ITPaladin on...

If it helps anything, I'm busy with RL, have been for the past year, and I'll get back to it when I can. There are others who can answer the quick questions, as TheNiceOne graciously did, so cross your fingers for them.

v132 - helped someone in another thread on that. It does seem to have problems with Wrye Morph, some bits of data are lost moving from the .pluggy file to the .obse file. I've uploaded v128 which should allow for newer mods, but still use the .pluggy file.

Would the 128 dev version also be good in the circumstance I described above in post 108 reference the DB quests not triggering after your first murder?. It was only v132 we had this problem with, so may provide you with another instance of circumstances broken with that version ... reverting to 125 did solve that for us.

I have very little use for pluggy as mentioned above, but if it is to be supported again and further developments made may return to using it, 125 has been stable for me for quite a long time.

It's a bit like OBSE breaking the DB quest, it really shouldn't happen - pluggy only adds functions and hooks into the DirectX stuff (the source of the crashes with the HUD version). Did you have a mod that touched the DB stuff, and required pluggy :blink:

And in all versions used of pluggy - I have never needed to enable the HUD. So the dynamic link libraries have remained the same name as downloaded.

OBSE v0019 stable installed. Previously used 0018b6.

I haven't had any problems at that point, but I haven't used TIE either..., was running Pluggy 132. :shrug:

but pluggy does cause a lot of CTDing I am not the only one complaining :sb:

Have some self pride boy and fix it :P

If you could disable .pluggy autosaving that would be great :tops: :clap:



Here is what I am using when I had Multiple CTD's on interior autosaves and switches

and when autosaving it would CTD. I know because after removing pluggy it stopped CTDing

when autosaving and switching cells etc.........

I used Stock and Modded both CTD a lot with pluggy

I think I'm going to go hit up ShadeMe or the Bash team to look through mods' scripts and find which use pluggy/obge/etc. functions. Then we'll try this again. Still not the foggiest clue - if it worked without pluggy maybe I'd have something to go on, but works with one version and not another :ahhh: Hey, could you send the save to haama341@hotmail.com and I'll try to narrow down which version stopped working... maybe that will shed some light (though it will be a while before I get some time to debug).

Aah no, unfortunately the machine affected was the family desktop, so after un-installing, went back a few saves for each user account (4 users), clean save routine, deleted all un-necessary saves and left them to carry on from there. I use CCleaner too so there are no remnants in the recycle bins (I have got everyone into the habit of using that before shut down) - Way too efficient with system stuff :facepalm:

At the time I did have a close'ish copy of a save on my laptop (using bains to install everything replicating the install means transfer of game to the other machine occasionally is easy and trouble free) - However I also did the whole routine on the laptop too just to try oblivion sans pluggy... sorry.

Wow...

Could the mods please clear off all the flies surrounding this thread... everything from ITPaladin on...

If it helps anything, I'm busy with RL, have been for the past year, and I'll get back to it when I can. There are others who can answer the quick questions, as TheNiceOne graciously did, so cross your fingers for them.

v132 - helped someone in another thread on that. It does seem to have problems with Wrye Morph, some bits of data are lost moving from the .pluggy file to the .obse file. I've uploaded v128 which should allow for newer mods, but still use the .pluggy file.
Thank u for replying I will upgrade to 128 and try map marker overhaul hopefully u will find out y 132 and wrye morph r incompatible but thanks for 128 cus that will work fine for me

Srry for the d post but it seems wrye morph doesnt work with pluggy v128 either I was wondering if u had the time could u look into that for now Im reverting to 125b
