Poison & Potion Recipes

Post » Thu Jun 23, 2011 9:24 am

Just messing around with some ingredients and found a few Combos that are easy to make and are very useful.

Poison

Nightshade + Dragon's Tongue (+ Redwort Flower)* = Damage Health - 3 pts for 14 seconds (Alchemy at 75)

*Redwort Flower can be added but does not have any effect on the out come.

Potion

Flax Seeds + Steel-Blue Entoloma Cap = Restore Magicka 8 pts for 31 secs on self (Alchemy at 75)

Does anyone else have any recipes they use regularly to help them on their Magical travels, Post Here see if we can string together some kind of potions book.

Lothran has some pretty good recipes but he has forbidden me to share them here. However there are some I can post.

Shield Potion
Mix some potato with summer bolete cap and make sure to add fresh water.

Frost Damage Poison
Collect some milk thistle and mix it together with dryad saddle polypore cap to make a poison for creatures that are weak to frost. Preferably used together with any weapon that inflicts frost damage too for better result

One of my favorite poisons is: Tiger Lilly, Primrose, Motherworth, Lady Smock

At Expert level it damages strength and fatigue. Great against melee types. Kind of a long term paralyze. And if they finally get up their strength is damage so they don't hit hard. Turns Warlords into Wusses.

Against Spell casters I like: Imp Gall, Spiddle Stick, Morning Glory, Elf Cup

Damage Health, Fire Damage, Damage Magicka, Damage Willpower

There are more powerful poisons, but these can be made with relatively common ingredients and are relatively light.

For a potion, how about (at Expert level): Aloe Vera, Lavender, Motherworth

That is restore health and invisibility. so if a battle is going against you this could be a life saver.

Am I the only person who tries to give my potions badass names?

Yes you are the only one! (jokin' with ya).

My character names her potions and poisons in a very unexciting manner that does two things for her: It places them where she wants them in her inventory and it lets her see exactly what they do at a glance.

I just try to name them relevent to what they do like Spirit of Dibella for Fortify Personality.

When I use potions or poisons which wasnt till I realized that alchemy was usefull for something other than making money was when I started nameing them. Some names is 1. Watch you burn (fire Damage), 2 Are you cold (Frost Damage), 3 Shocking Personality (Shock Damage), and so on. lol.... The restore health is called Campers Soup. On a side note havent come up with a Damage Health/(fire or frost or shock damage) name yet any suggestions would be used for this poison????

Spoiler section anyone?

I'm like Acadian and some others here, most of my poison/potion names were pretty boring, it helps just for the sake that they can be found and recognized more easily..

It's been awhile since I played Luci Pheria (my witch character who was way into Alchemy) so it's been awhile since I've actually made eitehr a poison or a potion.

I really liked it when Luci

Spoiler
walked thru the Great Forest/West Wield area where she lived the most, collecting ingredients to make Damage Health like hyacinth and nightshade, and combining then scouring the caves for some wisp stalks and rat's meat. Mmmmmm.

Messing around with the alchemy wizard, I found a neat combination.

Bergamot Seeds + Daedra Venin + Harrada = Damage Health, Damage Magicka, Paralyze, Silence

I'm not very creative with naming them. I don't see the point since I'll just be using/selling them. They are named after the first two/three letters of their effects. For example, chameleon + detect life would be chadetlif

The best in the game for killing is a 5 effect poison- Baa’s Freezer: Damage Health 8/30, Damage Magic 15/61, Silence 26, Frost Damage 9/38, Paralyze 3 - at Master/Master level.
Made from: Harrada, Spiddle Stick, Frost Salts, and Milk Thistle.
Or: Harrada, Wormwood, Frost Salts, and Milk Thistle.
Or: Harrada, Spiddle Stick, Vampire Dust, and Milk Thistle

The next best - Lodi’s Fire: Damage Health 8/30,Damage Magic 15/61, Fire Damage 9/37, Paralyze 3 - at Master/Master Level.
Made from: Harrada, Spiddle Stick, Fire Salts, Milk Thistle.

Note: Fire Damage doesn’t do a lot of good inside Oblivion Gates.

They weigh .1 #.

Angel calls this one Mage's Bane.

She also makes Fireman's Friend, Melee Mixer, Escape, and Angel's Guardian. For roleplaying, she is constantly replenishing her favorite drink; Angel's famous Apple-Berry Juice, made with only the finest apples, and hand picked blackberrys. :foodndrink:

Actually, I think the best way to learn about alchemy is from reading the UESPwiki :deal: The second best is to simply get a variety of ingredients, an alchemy set, and start mixing. :celebration:
