Poison on weapons lasts a certain amount of time. I don't know what. It's not one hit, I know, but I don't know how many. I just think, "Hmm, I've not poisoned my blade in a while," and I do so.

It's dirt cheap if you're an alchemist. I'm drowning in damage health poisons.

Expensive? You can make it yourself.

But yes, unless you take the perk that lets you use poison twice, it's one dose per attack. Alchemy is part of the Thief's domain because most poisons are intended to be used quietly and from a distance.

Paralysis poison can let you fight enemies your normally not strong enough to face. Snow bear, saber cat, frost troll at lv 2? Paralyze it. It gets up paralyze it again.

Really, one? I've hit people, and I swear it lasts longer than one hit. Like, if I've run into a couple wolves a ways back and then later look at my blade, it still has the symbol. Maybe I'm missing something. I don't pay much attention.

It last longer than one hit. Unfortunately game does not seem to tell you how much. You can also poison "bows", so you do not poison individual arrows (illogical but that is how it works). Works same as on blade weapons.

guess it′s the same logic that says putting a enchantment on a bow somehow transfer the magic onto each arrow fired X3

Even though you do indeed poison the "bow" it counts as poisoning whatever arrow you fire next. So if you poison your bow with iron arrows equipped but then switch to glass before shooting, the glass arrow will be a poisoned one if you fire it next.

Poison only lasts one hit unless you take the perk that gives you two. You and the other poster are probably thinking of enchanted weapons which are charged.

i think its silly that you can only add poison to your main hand weapon only, not both.

I used to underrate the power of poisons...

Just killed a dragon and there's this dude Krosis. He's beating the crap out of me and i'm halfway Sovengard.

No mana, no potions. Then i find this poison on my inventory and think "I'm screwd already, why not give it a try?".

One hit of my axe and the guy freezes stonecold, then i gladly (and happy, must say) proceed to [censored] him in the ass.

Never leave my city without 3~4 of these in my pocket again.

Just swap weapons for a second, poison, then swap back. Ta-da: both weapons are poisoned.

I usually poison all my weapons before heading into battle. Never know what I might want to switch out mid-fight.

Poisons work in to ways, one poison that will be in instant effect, or a poison that gives an effect over time, and one with a mix of the two. It's pritty much same as with potions, if you are into alchemy.

Poisons only last one hit, and it's very clear. Upon poisoning your weapon, it'll get a little poison icon in its information box. Upon firing or striking with the weapon, that icon is gone. Not sure why people are thinking it goes beyond that one hit.

Not sure why they think that. Maybe its the wow generation, or maybe some poisons that are effect over time rendering the mob with a sickly look to them.

I guess they got the poison last 2x as long perk but forgot they picked it up (makes it last for 2 attacks).

Or perhaps the Concentrated Poison perk?

Yes, if they have that one, I don't. Just leveled alchemy without any perks to get other more important perks. Well important for my playstyle. I'm not gonna say that perks in alchemy is useless as i don't know your playstyles.

Slightly off topic question but are you able to create a potion of +Alchemy?

What I'm working on is attaining all the perks from Alchemy / Enchanting as well as leveling them to 100. Step 2 is drinking a +Enchanting potion and building a +Alchemy set. Once complete I would create the strongest +Alchemy potion possible and craft some freakin epic poisons.

The real trick is in the back and forth as you create stronger and stronger +Enchanting / +Alchemy sets and I'm not 100% on all the details yet.

No there is no fortify alchemy potion, just as there is no fortify enchanting enchantment. However they do cross - fortify enchantment potion and fortify alchemy enchant.
