We've seen the few poisons and spells that would affect someones personality/ how they react (calm, frenzy, charm) in Oblivion. However, with the new AI personality engines in Skyrim, how will these come into play? What about applicators for your poisons? If I want to frenzy an enemy that is in a group to kill his friends (ex. Bandits), the arrow in his shoulderblade wouldn't be hard to see, and the other Bandits would go straight for me. A Personality poison/ spell affect sould change a person's personality rather than possess them to run be a ready fighter. The affect of a calm spell/ poison should make an angered enemy wonder why they were attacking you and stop, letting you escape before they realize why and go for you again. You should be able to discreetly cause an enemy to see the other marauders as they were conspiring against him and attack them all while standing atop an overlooking cliff. What I am talking about would apply to an Assassin class. Assassins must cause death at neccesary means, you could never be there at all and have your target killed.
What i'm getting at is
poisons should be a weapon in themselves. If i want that person to act as though he came straight from dementia, the game should ask me whether i want to do it from where i am or from a closer standingpoint, then proceed to tell me what my risks (detection, success/ failure) are for each way(dart, arrow, longsword, dagger). The possibilities of manipulation and destruction are endless.
