Pokémon mod in Skyrim

So I've been pondering this idea that sprang into my head a couple of weeks ago, and I've decided it would be awesome to replace all of the monsters in Skyrim with wild Pokémon and Trainers. This would obviously need some serious modding talent to ever see the light of day, but I think having the opportunity to run around with six Pokémon in Skyrim would be awesome. I haven't decided if I would rather play as the Pokémon when I throw the ball, or have a menu to select a move and used the tried-and-true turn-based fighting that is a hallmark of the series. Rendering all those Pokémon would take FOREVER, but I'm going to try this if enough people are interested. And btw, the first 150 are the best :rock:

I think there was a pokemon mod in OB. Although, I think it just added pokeballs.

I suppose everyone here is either much older or younger than me, and skipped the Pokémon generation... If my Senior class had our way the theme song would be our class song.

I was crazy into Pokemon when I was a kid... But I definitely grew out of it and I gotta say I would never use this mod.

Replace Pokemon with something that MIGHT fit the lore or gameworld and you'll get more interest i think. Like dragon/other reptile eggs instead of Poke balls (:D)

On the topic of mods based on stupid games that have nothing to do with TES, throw in a Beyblades and Pogs mod options.

if it wa not turn based i wold love it , of course thats probly because i grew up with pokemon :teehee: , but i would never get it (im on xbox) and if i was on pc i would probly only get it after a looong time

Probably not, I don't think it shows up transparent in most things. Maybe slightly.
Also, can we collect Charzard/Dragonite Souls to use dragon type moves?

Pokeballs OB mod was rather hokey and I considered it a joke mod. It's not a bad idea for a total conversion.

I take it you've played Pokemon? Here are my ideas on how you could do it.

Making it turn based would be a logistical scripting nightmare. The battles could be done in real time easily. The best way to do it I think is to make a cell for battles and completely remove combat from the normal world. For the conversion to be feasible though you need to forget about the Pokemon themselves and just use the creatures from the game. What you would be doing is emulating Pokemon's game mechanics with Bethesda's assets. Beyond that the outcome of battles and the capturing process should all be doable through moderate scripting with menus. Try and find a Skyrim equivalent for each technology presented in the "SciFi" based world of Pokemon.

It's totally doable, more so than any of my dream TC's.

I've seen an oblivion mod were if you had a high enough conjuration skill you kould entrap npcs in soul shards and call them back to fight for you.
