Poll: Character Accents

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 9:22 am

As a Russian major and linguistics minor nearing graduation, I'm curious as to what accents people enjoy hearing.

Which one will your Brink character have?

It varies, depending on what I may add to my character and his style.

But perhaps my first one will be Japanese.

Awwwwwwwwww. There's no Hispanic/Spanish accent? What in the world? Hispanics make up a big group of the minorities (in the U.S.) and we aren't represented in this multicultural Ark?!

*sigh* I'll choose... American, British, Australian and Irish, I guess.

Just pointing out, Scotland is part of Britian, which would make Scottish a British accent.

I've heard the African, American (sounds African American) and English (sounds London) accents, and I remember in a review somewhere someone mentioned an Irish accent.

My mistake, correcting now. And adding Hispanic.

By "British" I mean English. A rather embarrassing mixup I often make in my head.

We don't know all the accents that will be in the game.

And I'll probably have an American accent for my character.

I recall a developer saying their was a scene with an American a Russian and a Jamaican all arguing. Chances are if the accent is in a cut scene you can use it.

Thank you.
I voted for English, American, Hispanic, Russian, Irish and Australian. ^_^
I hope there is a Hispanic/Spanish accent in the game somewhere (wouldn't make sense to have Irish of all things but not include Spanish, lol) if not in the sequel. ^_^

It would be funny to hear my dude has the accent of that guy from Princess Bride: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3W5GDkgf2w

Japanese, Chinese, and Korean. 'Cause I'm Asian and I'm used to hearing Asian accents. As long as the accents aren't too strong :P

true but still the accent is distinctly different. What you are saying is its the same as if you were to put a southern accent from the US and a northern accent from the US. The flag you share doesn't mean you all pronounce (speak) your language the same.
