Poll: Would you like these options in ESO?

Post » Sat Mar 22, 2014 10:12 am

1. Flagged World PvP Outside of Cyrodill in enemy territory.

What does this mean: Just like World of Warcraft and many other game. You would have a pvp toggle on or off just like games that add aton of immersion seeing your enemy in your territory. Adds the sense of danger and excitement.

But players can only attack eachother as long as both people have ( /pvp on ) turned on. That way it avoids ganking

Or the PvPer can have it turned on. And Someone whose in just PvE mode can attack the PvP player at any given time. But it will flag the PvE player for PvP

Yes PvErs you dont have to worry about PvP if you want to avoid it. And also, no guards either to worry about. Just players as long as you are flagged for PvP.

But remember the only way you can enter PvP inside enemy territory is by typing ( /pvp on )

2. Level 50 Restriction removed

What does this mean: It means a low level player can leave his or her faction area without being level 50 to add the sense of exploration and freedom to the game.

Although ESO has plenty of stuff to explore as it is in your territory. Having that level 50 restriction removed would still be fun and safe.

Because even in enemy territory you still need to toggle ( /pvp on ) In order to do PvP in that area.

However you can still fight creatures that are your level down there along with doing low leveled quests.

3. Dueling

What does this Mean: It means someone can face a friend if you are part of the same faction, type ( /duel ) and practice your PvP skills against one another.

And the duel ends when the opposing player has 1 HP left.

This could add a ton of immersion into both Roleplay and to the game itself and very possibly attract more and more players to the game in my opinion.

4. Seeing More players outside of Cyrodill

What Does this mean: It means basically what you think it means. And hopefully this will be added later down the road. 200 people seems like alot of players.

Still we can see more than 200 players in Cyrodill after all right? hence a 500 vs 500 vs 500 battle. Thats about a good 1500 people that you can see on the siege battle.

And if the developers and players said it has runned smoothly with that many people. Then why keep it in just Cyrodill?

This also adds the higher chance of being able to find a group.

Conclussion: The Reason Why I am making these polls / ideas is because for many MMOs this is a very important thing that keeps their players playing the game

other than end game content. I am not telling Zennimax or Bethseda how to run their game.

Instead I think when I create this post I am speaking for many MMO or MMORPG players on this topic.

I do not claim to know what players want in a game. But I think these could attract just so many more players to the game. Casual and hardcoe gamers alike.

If you read this you would see that PvErs are still safe because they dont have PvP toggled on

This is why I was always a proponent of separate FvF (normal), World PvP, and Co-op PvE shards. These shards could still be connected to each other; there'd just be some more options gameplay-wise.

I dont like this restrictions, I love world pvp, its legit and in all levels... And I would love to have some side missions in smaller levels, into enemy teritory.. or else, whats the point of being 3 alliances against.. it sounds and looks dull, that we are restricted.

This is an issue that divides the community in every MMO, and it has been discussed to death here as well as everywhere else on the Internet.

People have strong opinions on both sides, and they do not change them based on other people's preferences.

Dead horse. Continued flogging will not achieve anything  Vote with your wallet and play the game that has the playstyle you prefer.

This :)

Also I'm a PVE player, call me carebear if you like I really don't give a damn to be honest :P And I don't oppose PVP at all as long as i'm not forced to participate.

So world wide PVP on the terms you described, no problem have fun guys. But unfortunately for you I'm not sure it's still possible to implement this or any other listed change except for duels now that everything has been implemented around a completely different rule-set.

Still I voted yes to all of that, just to be supportive :)

adding dueling is a no-brainer.

This was a no-brainer. ZOS could have made dueling rings in the major city of each faction which would allow same faction and opposing faction (level 50+ with phasing) players to duel 1v1.

Not me. I'm not much for PVP, but I still voted yes for everything in the poll.

Umm, why are so many people voting no for dueling? It's not like someone can force you to duel them (or at least I've never seen a game where they can), so why not let people who want to be able to duel?

lol im wondering the same thing why people are voting no for dueling. Theres absolutely no way the enemy player can get a jump on you if you say /accept to the duel

I have played elder scrolls games since morrowind, and those games always made me feel like the MMO version would be an FFA pvp one. Every bandit mercenary and faction could be represented much better and more believably by PLAYERS rather than mobs that stand still and have no minds of their own.

I am almost shocked how ESO keeps pvp in only one single zone and you cannot even SEE much less fight people outside Cyrodil. And even worse not even dueling is in the game, so two people cannot settle their rp differences or plan a fight outside cyrodil by simply agreeing to do so.

For dueling i have hope, i have hope one day it will be added. But i doubt world pvp will be, unless in the hopefully not grim far future we will see contested zones.

I hope we′ll be, @ some point, able to invade enemy territory - that is outta Cyrodil - during (at least) time/space limited campaigns. That is, for example, requiring you to control all of the, say, Dagerfall keeps in order to enter part of their borderlands and do some good old burn & pillage. I don′t really mind rewards, but it would help making numbers bigger. BTW dueling will obviously be there sooner or later (hopefully sooner).

Enemy PvE folks (or anyone not interested in such fight) might have some kind of warning of incoming invasion, so they can decide whether they run or fight (or simply PvP unflag or sumfinkAlike), or they can simply ′stay′ on PvE servers. Nobody should be forced to fight.

PS as people already noted, I also wonder why are there votes against dueling?? We can all live in peace and harmony, I will enjoy slaughtering my friends and you can pick your flowers meantime.

How get get unsuspecting pve players to flag for pvp:

Step 1:

- stand next to enemy quest npcs so unflagged player hits you with a soft locked cast or melee cleave or

- run into their dot aoe damage

Step 2:

- take down unsuspecting person who didn't know they got flagged

Step 3:

- /lol

And that's why ZOS didn't allow flagging in leveling zones.

Personally, so far, I am in favour of the way things have been laid out in ESO. It is really starting to stand out in the MMO genre. ZOS has set a path and they are standing true to it. (GOOD JOB on that !)

They have stated in many articles and interviews that they want to do things a different way. This is what drew me to this game, why I have bought it and why I am willing to pay a sub to play this game.

The duelling in MMOs is a very complex thing to do. Not in the setting up the arenas or the game play it self, but it usually opens a can of worms regarding class / ability balance issues. Once the developers start to change or tweek things for 1v1 or 2v2 arena battles, things get ugly really fast.

As far as I am concerned, only dueling is a necessary thing. Couldnt care less about the others.

Its a bit hard to describe what I would like to see but I will try. I would like to see "no man's land" skirmish areas on the borders between the different factions. So since Orsimer is right next to Skyrim you could have a PVP zone in the middle somewhere where both factions to go to fight and the same for Bosmerland (forgot the name) which is right next to the Black Marsh if I recall. This allows for fighint in areas other than just Cyrodil and it makes sense realistically since if you are at war with the other factions why wouldn't you be fighting along all the borders instead of just one area.

I wouldn't mind seeing arenas for people who want to duel.

I DO NOT want to see flagged PVP outside of these zones because it looks [censored] [censored]. Nothing is more annoying that coming across a group of bored people dueling with each other right in a quest area. Keep that [censored] in PVP zones and arenas. If you wanna PVP then go to an arena or go to a skirmish zone.

Hmm, I think we have different ideas on what dueling would be. I was thinking something like in SWTOR. You get bored standing around waiting for something/someone, challenge a nearby person to a duel, beat each other to a pulp, and go back to what you where doing before. Balance changes where never made to accommodate it - or at least I don't think so, as some classes utterly decimate others in duels. (DPS beats Healer, Healer beats Tank, Tank beats DPS - just like rock paper scissors) No one seems to mind, as there is no reward for winning or cost to losing. It's just something to do while waiting for ques, etc.

I vote Heck No to all of these until they can wake up add in options to make this game truly friendly for RPers and PvEers who want to group together without being phase-locked away from each other. Social gaming is not exclusive to PvP. Until MMO developers get this through their heads, MMOs will remain mediocre at best.

I would just like to point out how close the votes are atm. And we're not talking 10 or 15 votes, we're talking between 40 - 70 votes on those topics. I think that's pretty substantial.

That's a whole lot IMO
