Poll: Do you like Health/Magicka Regeneration?

Change is not always a BAD thing. People are just afraid of it.

Yep, like unzipping your pants for a girl the first time. Once you get over it, nothing but fun and excitement.

I dont see what a HUD has to do with immersion. Do people not think they are playing a game?

Some people want to play totally HUDless and mapless, because they say it helps role playing. I'm not that into that (although I'll give it a try), but I'm still glad that others will get to enjoy it that way. Without regen for the 3 bars, there would be no way for those people to role play that way, so I view this change as good.

I don't really mind not having Health regen since i can just use magic to restore Health. However i REALLY hope there is Magicka regen since im one of those people who hate filling my bags with a bunch of potions that take up a nice chunk of my carry weight. (and money buying the potions, which for me ive always had money issues in oblivion)

So HP regen i don't care either way but MP regen is almost a must for me, if its not in ill get a mod for it.

The screen turns red.

Although if people want to play HUD-less, Map-less and Menu-less, why are they playing an in depth RPG? Its kind of like people who think you can have an in depth RPG without any displayed stats or menus.

Some people might argue that not having to view your stats or map ever makes the RPG elements better, because it allows them to estimate your abilities instead of seeing them displayed for you, which helps their immersion and overall fun.

Note that I'm playing Devil's Advocate here, not stating my personal preferences.

From what I heard, health regen happens outside of combat, and it'll be slow. I expect something similar to the health regen implant in FO:NV, which is INCREDIBLY SLOW! (1hp/5sec). If one honestly thinks that's fast, it'll take nearly 16 minutes to recover 200hp of health. That's [censored] slow.

As for me, I liked having mana regeneration in OB, and health regeneration is something I'm indifferent too, unless it's pretty speedy.

But what I'm getting from most people who don't like it, it seems they think it'll be something akin to a FPS's way of handling health or something.

And quite frankly, I think too many people are being WAY too dramatic, panicked, and thinking EVERYTHING will be the worst case scenario for everything. Take a chill pill.

Like turning the best RPG ever made into a hack and slash for people who dont like RPG's, that would be a bad thing.

Good thing Bethesda isn't doing anything like this.

In Oblivion, if you wait for an hour your health and magicka would regenerate.

If they limited regeneration to a slow regeneration over time instead of having your health and magicka regeneration while waiting, I like it.

Voted: Yes, for everyone; but make it very slow.

To me, it makes sense the health and Magicka would slowly regenerate over time just like stamina. I can, however, understand that this won't be appealing to everyone.

yeah, Im not arguing with you, I just dont think much (not you) of those peoples opinions on what an RPG is. They seem to want an action game that is non stop, real time gameplay. Something an in depth RPG will never be. Until there's really good virtual reality.
