Poor performance... for the RIGHT reasons! :D

Its about damn time we get a game that cripples our systems and makes us upgrade! Right on Crytek's .PDF for "making of DX11" it recommends a 480 or higher claiming you will average 35 FPS.

Its brute force graphics! Its the second coming of Crysis! 60+FPS is only attainable with 480, or 580 cards SLI'd! FINALLY A DAMN REASON TO GET A SECOND GTX 480!

Thank you so much Crytek! You guys are awesome!

I anticipate the PC noobs who dont know a thing getting the update and maxing everything with their 460's and wondering why the framerate is at a crawl. Time to upgrade, pry those wallets open!!! :D

What kind of retard ask for awful performance just so you are forced to buy an GTX580?

Crysis looks ten times better and plays alot better=people happy .

OK WHATEVER...

I got 35. . . XFX 5870

Thinking of upgrading to XFX 6970, need to wait for Benkmarks!

@Stalker

My point is the "awful performance" is actually a mediocre rig thats trying to max out a game that really cant be maxed unless you have high end cards in SLI. THe point is that Crytek is really pushing the envelope of what the PC as a platform is capable of. It has not been pushed really since Crysis 1, or I guess Metro 2033.

This is what we, as PC enthusiasts want. A reason to test our rigs against something worthy of running on a 500 dollar card...in SLI. Up until now really NO reason to go SLI unless you do 3d surround, or want to use Super sampling in every game...

For people like you who dont want to buy expensive parts, then DONT. Run it at "Extreme" and be content :)

I also expect Nvidia to release a patch for better performance too. THere is a beta driver that came out 7 days ago, but it does not relate to this update. Soont though :)

Eh. The real thing to think about is that is the massive performance hit worth a small increase in visual quality? And yes.. its small at this point. If you already have the high end card(s) then its a nice improvement but I really dont think C2 is a game worth upgrading for, especially at this moment in time. By the time the average person can run C2 maxed out in DX11 on their system the game will be dead.
