Port forwarding problems?

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 12:31 am

Hey guys, I didn't play Crysis 2 for a while and meanwhile I got myself a new router. Now I want to play Crysis 2 again, but I can't login into the multiplayer! :S

I was thinking it was some local pc problem first, so I installed Crysis 2 on my laptop, but same problem. After that I tried to link my internet directly into my computer instead of router and Crysis 2 seemed to work again!

This isn't the solution I want to use everytime I want to play Crysis 2, since other people use the internet here also. So I tried port forwarding in my router as you can see here:

After enabling that I tried again but it still doesn't work! Can anyone help me with this problem?

Make a different account in-game and log in to MP with the new account, i had to do this after changing ISPs.

Thank you for writing us at Electronic Arts. I apologize for any inconvenience may caused to you.

In order to resolve your login problem, please make sure you have patched the game and also set your firewall up to include ports listed in the manual to allow.

1. Set up and account with gamespy from gamespy website as normal.

2. Login to your email you used once complete and make sure you click the link in the email sent to you from gamespy to "validate" the account and then validate and login to test its logging in ok.

3. Try this in the game again to login.

** the next stage is if its still a problem or you already have an account setup **

4. "IF" you get the same problem at this stage then login inside the game yet again using the same email address you have used for the account and the same password, BUT instead enter a NEW user name.

This will actually update the gamespy account from inside the game to a fresh new user name which seems to then link correctly when doing this to an existing account. its at this point it kicks it up the bottom to sync correctly and logs you in.

Obviously remember this new user name, the password and email will be the same anyway.

I did get this as reply with EA Support, I could log in again after I logged in on the Gamespy website, strange but it worked.
