I really missed portable lanterns in Oblivion, they were in Morrowind and gave a brilliant feel to the atmosphere of the game.
I know some can be see in a screenshot behind a Kahjiit. I already doubt they are usable though.

Anybody know if they are in Skyrim?

I hope they are, but I don't know.

edit: Torches for sure though.
