So. I've been in a party with my friends doing co-op and they are talking about how awesome it is... now i want it. I think I'll just go to my friends house and play and beat it there.

Add me to the list for PSN

ID: asapp1520

Just beat single player, ending was pretty funny, the song wasn't as good as "Still Alive" though. And just curious, but since Steam is on PS3 now does that mean the PC and PS3 can do cross-platform multiplayer?

I finally beat single player today, and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed that it wasn't harder. Don't get me wrong I loved it, but I also didn't really feel challenged enough most of the time. Hopefully there are some user maps soon that'll be more difficult.

I also never played the first one, I assume it's pretty similar to the second, but is it worth buying still?

Pondering Greek mythology and the ending (oh, and that guy in the picture):
Spoiler
That nasty little different turret mentioned Prometheus, he who brought fire to men and was sentenced to have his liver picked by an eagle every day. Who gave you the means to travel through the Aperture Laboratories in the first place? GlaDOS. Who is getting picked by a bird after her sentence through who was then the god of this complex? GlaDOS.
Prometheus was known for his foresight, something that is among the core competencies of GlaDOS. The brother of Prometheus was Epimetheus, who was more of a hindsight and very clumsy person. Which is exactly what Wheatley represents.
Also the ending: Chell ends up in a field of wheat, under the sun, and is rejoined by a long lost loved one. Which is a likely interpretation of Greek Elysium, "Heaven" of the heroic dead.

Oh, and the guy in the picture of Cave and Caroline? Prometheus Bound was a tragedy mostly attributed to Aschylus. Here's http://www.bmagprints.org.uk/image/407605/sir-william-blake-richmond-an-audience-in-athens-during-agamemnon-by-aeschylus, by one Sir William Blake Ashmond.

Game is deep, yo. ^_^

Portal is shorter, but a little more difficult. If you're into OCD difficult, you can try the Portal mod Prelude when you're done with the first. ^_^

I saw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lICcfdftF0&feature=channel_video_title the other day and loved it  it's more funny if you've played Left 4 Dead and happen to know who Bill is. There's no major spoilers or anything it just shows Wheatley in different areas of Aperture all from the first few beginning levels.

To complain about HL-2 Ep 3 taking too long, email [removed]@valvesoftware.com. To complain about L4D2 not taking long enough, email [removed]@valvesoftware.com.

:lmao: Now that's customer service!

That needs to be a mod we can actually use. Like, now. I love Wheatley, but...that's absolutely priceless.

The GiantBombCast has a Portal 2 Spoilercast talking about the story, so if you'd like to hear the developers talk about the ins-and-outs about the plot of Portal 2, check it out.

It's not so much deep as it is repeating a good story in a new form. Unless your in a portal loop, then I guess it literally is deep.

By the usual writing standards in the industry (not looking at any company affiliated with this forum, of course :shifty:) that is indeed deep. Though 'layered' might be a better term.

The same stories have been repeated for a very long time. Fundamental natures of humanity so to speak. It's not necessarily a bad thing they keep repeating in new forms, actually it's impossible to have an original story in this day and age. A completely original one would be mind blowing, they've all been told really. It's just the details that change ect. But that's a serious topic, not meant for these forums.

Edit
No I don't mean the portal repetitions. I mean if your stuck in a Portal loop you keep going through the two portals until the circuit is broken. It's technically infinite depth.

Yes, you can.

Awesome, do we have to use our Steam ID to play with people on PC instead of our PSN ID?

If so then here's my Steam ID: a_sapp152

When PSN is back up does anyone want to beat the Co-op campaign with me?

Does anyone have a high resolution picture of one of the Cave Johnson portraits? Is there any way to extract the texture from the files? Because that would be appreciated if someone could.

Just beat the single-player. It was hilarious and awesome and perfect. And, I loved it.

Now I need someone to play Co-Op with. But since PSN is down, I have to wait for a friend to come over =(

I hope the next Half Life game wont have some sort of co-op, one player as Gordon, one as Alyx. :shakehead:
