Portal 2 :ahhh:

So who's planning on going to a midnight launch? Or staying up until midnight to play it as soon as it unlocks on Steam? I still have to call my Gamestop to make sure they're having one but considering the developer I don't see why they wouldn't.

I'm hoping they'll allow for pre-loading like they did with L4D2. That might help with the "watch your download speed slow to a crawl because the Steam servers have melted" phenomenon on releases that don't let you pre-load.

I think my favorite part is the surprise BEEEEEEEES. Also: to the pre-order machine, Batman! ...Odd that they don't have preorders available on Steam yet, though.

My favorite part of that video is "Diamonds, women love these for their wide range of industrial applications".

After my next paycheck, I'm preordering it on Steam, then staying up and staring at my computer until it unlocks.

Coming from my experience with waiting for the TF2 beta to unlock waiting for a Valve game to unlock is a vain attempt.

I'm hoping they'll allow for pre-loading like they did with L4D2. That might help with the "watch your download speed slow to a crawl because the Steam servers have melted" phenomenon on releases that don't let you pre-load.

One of the features Valve tries to use to get developers to use Steam is pre-loading. It would be stupid for them to not use it with one of their own games. I'm pretty sure all Valve games have used this feature also.

Can't wait for the game to be released already pre-ordered it and it's coming April 19th to NA. I'm only curious if I should go through the single player mode first or the Co-Op mode.

Won't there be cross-platform play? I thought I read something about that.

Looks like I'll be getting this game at K-Mart instead along with Mortal Kombat.

Pre-ordered Portal 2 for the PS3 (so that I'll have the PC copy, too). Looking forward to playing it.

PSN: NumberoftheJon
Steam: NumberoftheJon

Also forgot to add that none of my friends will be getting this game so I could use somebody to play with. Hope you don't mind playing with a (almost) 16 year old. Not like the typical 360 tennage player.

Gamertag: IrradiatedRobot

Add me if you want to play Portal 2, I won't be playing any multiplayer really until then so don't be offended if I don't talk to you until then.

There's no news update about it as of this writing, but for those of you who have pre-ordered the game through Steam...it's now showing the option to pre-load! :celebration:

I'm tempted to get this due to co-op, but I'm going to be pissed if it goes the way of Left 4 Dead 2. <_<

You mean the multiplayer? It's a puzzle game.

The fact that Left 4 Dead 2 was just Left 4 Dead in a new location? Portal 2 is a full sized game. Portal wasn't.

I mean it ending up as just another cash-out.

From what I can tell, Left 4 Dead 2 didn't innovate at all over the first one, nor was it as interesting. (imo)

From what we know there's a few new mechanics in Portal 2.

Got the PS3 version pre-ordered and fully paid off today. Won't be playing it on the PS3 though, so if anyone wants to play with me, add me on Steam.

Meanies. :spotted owl:

I'm so pumped for this.

I hope that they keep the story as deep as they did in Portal 1.

Anyone else think the androids look like Bert & Ernie?

Remember to drink your ovlatine guys. Hahahahaha. They want people to buy games so they can release it early. Good god... and I know people will do it. That's the sad thing.

Edit
I don't think an early release is possible. Valve might have a moving target goal and it will release Tuesday anyways.

Edit2
I sense a disturbance in the force. As if a million people cried out in anger, and were quickly snuffed out by the laugh of the trolls.

Pre-ordered from Amazon for Ps3. I won't play it on the Ps3, but since Amazon has such a great deal for the console players I couldn't pass it.

If I wasn't so poor, I might actually get one of those games so I could play and help. For now I guess I'm just stuck spreading the word.
