Portal 2 most anticipated game of 2011

Post » Thu Mar 31, 2011 4:23 pm

Screw Portal, the first one wasn't even that fun anyway.

Besides, these portals are much cooler, and only the Elder Scrolls has them. :obliviongate:

I love TES but I have to say, Portal was all kinds of awesome and I can't wait for portal 2. I'm anticipating it more than Skyrim probably only because it comes out earlier ^^

Wow, this thread is destined not to be biased! :P

Anyway, for me it's Skyrim. But there are a hell of a lot more Valve [censored] than us, and Portal 2 should be DAMN. GOOD.

I don't understand why people like Portal so much. I never finished it because I got bored. Then again, I hate puzzle games with a searing passion -- they put me right to sleep.

Gee guys, if you post a poll in game forum of Skyrim that which game is most anticipated Skyrim or X which would get more votes?

If you'd do the same poll on Portal 2 forums you would get totally different result.

Yes this is definitely the right place to ask such a question. People on the official Bethesda board is totally unbiased. For me, Skyrim easily beats it, i am not even interested in Portal 2. I am not sure i would go as far as to say that Skyrim is my most anticipated game however. It's definitely amoung them but not necessarily number one. I am also very much looking forward to Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2.

I put "I don't know" because there are several games I am highly anticipating this year: LittleBigPlanet 2, Mass Effect 3, Uncharted 3, Skyrim, Infamous 2, Killzone 3, Batman: Arkham City, Gears of War 3 and so on. =)

I just have to be wise on spending games I would like the most. Mass Effect 3, Skyrim, Uncharted 3 and are my top 3 choices this year. =D

I pick Mass Effect 3 a little over Skyrim because I feel more connected to the characters and game world than the Elder Scrolls games and the fact that it is a third-person shooter as well. Plus, it is the last part of the trilogy, so I must see how it ends!

Portal was very anticipated. But The Elder Scrolls is the cornerstone of my gaming obsession. The moment Skyrim was announced every other game just seems pointless.

Portal 2 sounds interesting, but it's Skyrim the game I'm more driven for.

Then Mass Effect 3 --> Dragon Age 2 --> Crysis 2 --> Red Dead Redemption...and maybe some other/s.

Yup, 2011 is definitely going to be a nice year... ^^

It's a tie between Battlefield 3 and Skyrim. Both are going to be awesome, so I'm getting each one of them on the day of release.

Portal is alright, but damn it I want Episode 3 before Portal 2.
But most anticipated? I guess it could be, not like most anticipated=best.

Portal was awesome but I don't know how they plan to do the sequel.

It was fantastic as a freebie included in the Orange Box, but I don't think I'd pay $50 for it.

Portal seems cool, but also gimmicky. If Bethesda introduced a refined version of the "Passwall" spell (unlikely) it would make Portal obsolete. Portal is a game, in the purest sense of the word, and because of that I think it would be more fun for me than any other game that tries to have some overarching narrative. I'm sorry, if I want a story I'll read a book or watch a movie. Gameplay is what matters. But just as some games are all story and no game, Portal seems to be all game and no story. Maybe I'm wrong here, but that's not the point.

The point is that ES encompasses a whole world, where you can accomplish your objectives any number of ways. I doubt it's possible to log 300+ hours into Portal. 100? Maybe. I think I got 100 out of Call of Duty 4 multiplayer, which I played obsessively. I have no doubt that Portal may be more anticipated on the whole, but it's not even in the league of the ballpark of the vicinity of a game like Skyrim.

Hey look, Skryim is more anticipated. Gee, didn't think I'd see that on the Skyrim board! Bias, heck yeah!

Hmmm.....I sense no bias here. :whistling:

Portal is a good title, but I'm more anticipating Skyrim. I'm biased of course.

Yep. Diablo III in first place, Skyrim in third place, and Portal 2 weighing in at #10. :D
