since when is saying i've never heard of a game, considered "bashing"? :slap:

also, from what i've read in some posts... its a game where you do absolutely NOTHING but jump through portals... yeah, that sounds more fun than skyrim could ever be.

No bashing would be something like calling it a stupid game with no reason for existence, and never trying it or evern hearing of it. Then saying one of series your most blindly "dedicated" too will blow it out of the water without any real information about portal. Well guess what!

Portal 2 = TES:V < Diablo 3

I got Portal when I bought "The Orange Box" bundle for under $20... that was a great deal. HL2, TF2, HL2 episode 1&2, Portal, and maybe CS source too? I might have already owned CS.

Pretty much the best deal in gaming history. :D
The Total War: Eras pack as well.

All Total War games up to Medieval 2... for 50$. Plus a big poster of Medieval's 2 King Lionheart. Plus the soundtracks of each game.

Oh and CS Source is not in the Orange Box.

The Elder Scrolls Skyrim is almost certainly not the most anticipated game of 2011 in the general gaming community. In fact, given that 2011 is a rather busy year for high profile games... its probably not even one of the top 5 most anticipated games. Games that are probably higher on that list are: Portal 2, Mass Effect 3, Diablo 3, Crysis 2 (a whole lot of console gamers can't wait to get their hands on it), Gears of War 3, and DragonAge 2.

I love The Elder Scolls... but like it or not, the series is not among the most popular in the gaming world. Not to say Skyrim won't do very well, but it just can't compete head on with most of the big names in the industry. If I had to say, Mass Effect 3 is probably the most anticipated game of 2011 hands down. I would say Diablo 3, given the length of time between Diablo games, but there just is not a lot of noise around it.

He didn't bash portal until he got bashed.

I did though.
Indeed. Portal, pfft. They took a novel game mechanic(basically the ability to pass through solid objects using a portable portal) and based an entire game around it. Beyond boring.

I like puzzle games.

I didn't like Portal.

What of it?

Obviously this poll is going to be one sided but I chose I don't know. While I am looking forward to this game immensely, portal is an amazing game. It is such a subjective topic that everyone will have an answer.

I will play portal 2 when it comes out and then get back into Skyrim mode.

I just watched GT's top 10 anticipated games, and it was a load of bull. The only games that deserved to be up there IMO are ME:3, Portal 2, and possibly Gears 3.

The witcher one was basically choppy gameplay, the main objective was to have intercourse with as many people as possible. Rage looks nice, but it just kinda seems like it doesnt have enough of the dev's heart in it. I would have liked to see Brink and especially Skyrim. Never heard of that drake game, so I cant really say anything bad about it. Deus Ex doesnt even have gameplay, the coolest part about it seems to be that guy's glasses. Also that guardian game was... fail? It looked like the never ending story mixed with avatar: the last airbender.

Yeah,....I can deal with it not being #1.....but for Skyrim not to make the list AT ALL is pretty ridiculous.

Maybe if it was Half Life 3. Portal looks pretty cool but I'd rather have Skyrim.

Portal was good but come on...it's just a ten hour puzzle game...a little bonus/minigame that came with the orange box.

im not a hardcoe gamer because i've never heard of a stupid game that likely has no point to it, or anything fun to do? ok...

besides, i take that as a compliment, because from what i've seen, "hardcoe gamers" are mostly just idiots who have such huge egos they feel the need to become dictators of the gaming world and tell any gamer who doesnt operate like a machine that they svck and should quit playing games forever, and i've even received suggestions to end my life by some "hardcoe gamers" cause i cant beat games like demon's souls...

if thats what you consider a good gamer, then... god have mercy on your soul.

really you had to bring religion into this when you were the one being rude?
I consider myself a "hardcoe gamer" yet I don't think like that or have a big ego *if anything I have a mild sized one :P* not everyone thinks like that, I also loved Portal 1

The Last Guardian is made by Team Ico, Team Ico made Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, please don't bash it before you have tried. I reallyyyyy loved those games, glad they are being remade and hopefully being released in March

Sorry for double post

I was in an argument with one of my friends and this came up. Portal 2 won most anticipated game of the year, but I dont think this would be true. Skyrim couldn't have been an option in the polling because bethesda wouldn't want to give it away. I would just like to see other peoples takes on it, because I think that Skyrim will have a much larger following and it has been a long time since the last ES game

This is not an unbiased forum, there is no way you can get an accurate poll here. I believe this thread is very out of place.

There's lots of screenshots, videos etc out of Portal 2.
But in reality none from Skyrim(if you dont count the gameinformer magazine screenshots), keep that in mind.

are u actually trying to start a fight? first learn how to read, he said it was crap compared to skyrim and didnt even kno what portal was and plus we barely hav any info on skyrim. second, i dont hav a problem if u dont lik portal cause atleast u kno what it is. last, i personally thought portal was one of the more unique games out there (even tho it was repetitive), and i believe it deserves a sequel compared to all the crap that does get sequels (cod).
