Every time players rank up their overall level, they can choose a supplemental perk ability for one of the 18 skills. For instance, if you fight most of your battles with a mace, you may want to choose the perk that allows you to ignore armor while using the weapon. As in Fallout 3, several of the perks have their own leveling system as well, allowing you to choose them multiple times. Once you choose a perk, it lights up the corresponding star in the constellation, making it visible when looking up to the heavens while interacting in the world.

We already got a post (either on these forums or in a tweet, I can't remember which. Pretty sure it was on the forums) that cleared this argument up a long time ago, shortly after the GI mag. The menu is nothing like the sky. "The Sky" they talked about in the GI mag was the menu "sky", not the actual sky. The mix up from the odd wording of that in the article really confused many people and we ended up getting a dev to clear it up. Alot of people were thinking that you would look up and you would see a giant nebula in the sky also hehe.

I love being out of the loop. :bonk:

Still will be cool to see the menu sky highlight the constellations and stuff through the different perk trees you select.

Huh? The Nebulae were beautiful and therefore they exist? I'm confused lol.

You are confusing physical truth with philosophical truth.
Im really not going to go into detail here, in the age of google.
Suffice it to say that fantasy is a human representation of reality, not reality.
It does not hold to the same laws.
The most important law it does hold to is that it needs to be a story.

(reality often isnt a story, thats why people invented journalists, to tell us theres a story there
Cat stuck up tree isnt a story. Fireman heroically saves dear pet IS)

For a good story to be cathing it needs to hold true to certain human addages.
It is Beautiful and therefore true is a very strong one.

By golly gosh I did go all explainy.
