Is it possible to be addicted to Skyrim?

Pffft, that's just mild obsession. True addiction is not going to work at all. When you skip work to play Skyrim, then you're addicted. ;)

The science of psychology is used in designing video games, anything to get players re-using the product over and over again & judging by the responses in this thread... yep... it's working...

"Sipping through a little glass. I'm looking for some help, I need someone to save my ass."

*cough*

Depends on how and why the person is playing it, though with the addition of mods each play through always brings something new to the table.

Despite my love for Morrowind, a fully modded Skyrim trumps it for me. Modders have really pulled out the stops this time around; their work is truly awe inspiring. New standards have been set for the next game, for sure.

Or you could live off of disability and eat canned beans while you play Bethesda games all day...

In that case you dont actually have to be anywhere most of the time, so you technically aren't missing anything, although nearly every single time im in the waiting room at some hospital thing im checking out UESP on my phone. NO ESCAPE.

That's like switching from cigarettes to cocaine

It's just part of the addiction program.

Cigarettes to cocaine to meth to heroine.

Vanilla to mods to fanfics to cosplay . :sorcerer:

Oh yeah! If I don't get a dose of skyrim play regularly, like daily, I FEEL that I'm missing it. Unless of course I'm actually in Love with it.....weird! And that's after maybe 5 hours a day every day for three years. I also listen to the sound track on the way to work sometimes. And both me and my ten year old have learned all the lyrics to the Sovnguard chanted song so we can sing along together. That's parental bonding through skyrim there! When family friends have heard us and ask what the hell language is that? I normally tell them it's an old Icelandic drinking song, they generally buy it, ha!

I wouldn't say I'm addicted to Skyrim, but I play it almost for rehabilitation. When I get tired of other games, it's one of those that I can always come back to and enjoy with a nice, long playthrough.

When you sing your own Skyrim songs and write Skyrim fanfiction, that's signs of addiction as well.

Sadly, the site won't allow me to paste text, so I can't share the stories. :(
