I did not vote because I don't want to battle Alduin. I honestly don't see how we could battle a God-Dragon that is capable of eating entire mountains in one bite. I would much prefer you do something else besides the cliche' big video game boss battle and have your character prevent his return/banish him again like those of old did according to "Alduin's Wall"

I agree with you except for the last part. What if he is like this?

A little cliche' doesn't hurt, and as I've said before- it'd be nice for one game in 3 to end with an actual fight, instead of:

Morrowind- Avoid Big Bad while destroying ancient artifact

Oblivion- Avoid Big Bad and his hordes while leading someone else to finish the fight

I don't really care who, what, or where- but could we get one real finale fight and not another "duck, run, hide, and watch someone else wrap things up" ending?

I think that after defeating multiple dragons and gaining there power, that we should be able to use those powers to defeat Alduin in an actual battle.

Honestly, I'm hoping the ending is mysterious, surprising, and not entirely explanatory. I don't want to just fight a giant dragon - who is supposed to be the avatar of one aspect of the god of time itself, literally comprising linear time in the world, without which time would be amorphous and nonlinear - and defeat it only to have the game tell me, "You won! The world is saved!" I want something strange to happen. I don't want to fully understand the implications of what I've done. And I want the implications to seem potentially dire. I want to feel like the world has somehow irrevocably been changed if I defeat Alduin. Either that, or I want the world to literally end and be recreated.

Something other than 1) Fight giant monster, 2) Kill giant monster, 3) Be hailed as a hero. This is Alduin. It should matter. It should change things. Just my two cents.

Lets see, fighting something so huge would be really hard to pull off. Imagine if you really had to duke it out with Mehrunes Dagon at the end of Oblivion, you'd just be hacking his feet the whole time and that would svck. Same thing goes with over-sized dragons, which leads me to believe there won't actually be any real combat with dragons, rather we will just end up yelling at them until they die, unless of course Bethesda has some other tricks up their sleeves to make the combat with dragons actually work and not feel silly. I guess we'll just have to wait and find out.

In Morrowind you fought Dagoth Ur who was a god capable of immense destruction, that was still an epic battle.

I never liked boss battles. I hate doing things like "attack when his mouth is open" or "shoot his eyes". Nor do i like when a boss is an enemy with a lot of hp. Thats why bosses to me arent as fun as situational antagonists.

The only fun bosses to me are semi easy to kill just smart as hell.

An epic battle not to kill, but to weaken enough where he could be banished.

Honestly, I really DON'T want an "end boss" like oblivion, where it was basically "I know you're the strongest warrior around, but YOU ARE GOING TO WATCH ME WIN IT FOR YOU!!!!"

I want to feel that it is a tough battle. I want to run from it at first, until I'm in a better place to fight him. I want to be able to be killed super-fast if I'm not focused enough. I want it all to look impressive!

Really? In Morrowind I fought a huge beating heart inside a Liberty Prime wannabe. Can't say as it was all that epic, either...not like it ran, or ducked, or even moved much. It just kinda sat there beating and let me whack it.

Yeah, Liberty Prime wannabe... Considering he hadn't even been thought of yet. :P

Seriously, cliche's aren't all that bad when it comes to big boss fights but I don't know. I'm sure whatever they do it will be good.
I enjoyed Morrowind and Oblivion's end. I thought severing the power of four gods, then killing one of them was pretty epic.

Nope. Absolutely not. How could you possibly take on the Dragon of Time ? I mean, huge epic battle against a boss dragon, very much so. But I don't see how you can even picture Alduin without diminishing him. Really better left to imagination.

I was actually thinking this...

Couldn't we find like super big ass things to like...push over on him or something. Like a massive tree could pin that Mother-[censored]ers tail.

Anyway, if I'm perfectly honest, I would like to fight Alduin to a point. I'd like to attack and hurt him, and force him back, but I want something kinda like Oblivion's ending, but where I can actually HURT the big baddie instead of just...doing nothing to him no matter how many Uber-spells I throw at his face.

Sure make it possible to confront Alduin in battle, but make it impossible to beat him. He just swallows you(and the mountain you were standing on) every time.
