possible to assign keys 9, 0, -, and = as hotkeys?

I guess I didn't phrase the words correctly, what I mean is what you mentioned: wheels. The current wheel as exist in vanilla Oblivion only have eight contents, I was thinking of mod that expand or even change the wheel appearance so that it has ten, twelve, or more spoke of wheels (contents) so to speak. Therefore the use of modifier keys are not necessary and user can directly see contents one to ten/twelve.

Oh, in that case, no, such a mod does not (yet) exist, as far as I know... There are mods that allow you to have direct access to various spells and items, without the use of modifier keys, but none that alter the menu files in such a flexible manner. That sounds quite difficult, actually...

Okay got it, thanks! I might take a look at the mods you previously mentioned instead.

Edit: One more question: I am a long time user of http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18571, but none mentioned it here. How are the mods mentioned here are "superior" to Improved Hotkeys?

I think I used that mod too... I always play with a hotkey mod. Uncommon Controls was nearly perfect for me, can't remember why I dropped it... However, I will be set as long as I get my number pad back, so I will play with those mentioned here. It think one of the "new" features since the '08 hotkey mods is the use of cycler keys and one other feature, cannot remember it. Uncommon Controls was cool because of the additional 9 keys that could be accessed without a modifier key, which I really enjoyed. Super Hotkeys is nice because I can add as many wheels as I want, very easily, by copying a few lines in the INI and changing the associated modifier key. I have not used a hotkey mod for which it was quite that simple to change the associated keys, but there are still a few I have not tried. ;)

I just installed HotKey Scroll V1.4 and BOSS tells me that the Remove Mouse Scroll 1.4.esp is an unrecognized mod file, and to reorder by hand. Can someone advise about the best way to handle this?

Edit- I don't think this Hotkey Scroll V1.4 mod works. I placed the esp in the data files folder as instructed, activated in OBMM and Wrye Bashed, ran BOSS (getting the above message), rebuilt my patch, and then ran the Hotkey Scroll V1.4.exe. Got this error:

Can't load icon. The current thread will ext. Specifically: Hotkey Scroll V1.4.exe

--->Line #
014: Menu, Tra, Icon, Hotkey Scroll V1.4.exe

Instructions from the readme:

"
INSTALLATION:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Unzip this file where you want, move the "Remove Mouse Scroll 1.4.esp"
into the Oblivion Data Folder and activate it inside of "DATA FILES"
Menu. Then run MageScroll V1.4.exe before you run Oblivion.
"

Link to the mod (it's old- 4 years)

Anyone got any suggestions?

Crap. Installing Hotkey scroll seems to have completely hosed my hotkeys, at least as far as Hove's and Hotkey casting is concerned, even though I deleted Hotkey scroll after getting that error message above.

For some reason my character keeps autocasting spells when I don't want him to, and when I scroll to a spell via the mousewheel, it casts itself, which is not something I want it to do. Going to remove STHotkeys, Hove's Hotkeys, and Hotkey casting from OBMM and rebuild bashed patch, load a game, and then reinstall them all via OBMM and Wrye Bash to see if that clears it up.

I'd recommend folks not try HotKey Scroll V1.4.

Did you run the Mage Scroll thing? My setup is not yet in a state where I want to experiment much with it yet, but I will let you know if I get to it. I do want to try out one or two of the hotkey mods that have been mentioned here.

Yes, I did run Mage Scroll exe after I'd placed the .esp file in my data folder. The exe wouldn't run properly.

peppergomez; Unrecognized files get placed after the Bashed Patch, and usually don't work. I have the esp 1 space above the Patch and it works fine. The line-error you described is normal. Something happened in the last update that screwed up the icon placement. As I said before, the app still works, just look for the blank space on your task bar. It's also possible that the app can not handle 3 hotkey mods at the same time. Not sure about that, but I can test it easily enough. I suggest re-installing the mods, then try using Hotkey Scroll before assigning any hotkeys beyond the standard 1-8.
