Is it possible to beat daggerfall?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 8:42 am

I feel like I'm getting no where, I got the letter from the lady and met her(starting the main quest) but I have no idea what to do now.Im 4-5 hours in and my character is a weakling(lvl 4 battlemage) and he's as slow as a snail so the "attack and retreat" tactic doesnt work. For instance, I tried that on a werewolf, and I couldnt land a single hit then he killed me.Any tips for this game?

Werewolves are tough. A hint: Thrusting has a higher chance to hit than other attacks, but lower damage. If you can't seem to hit something, poke at it.

As for the main storyline, you should receive a few letters after a while, hinting at what to do next. Lady B suggested you seek out the royalty of the 3 main kingdoms of the bay. There is always down time during the main quest; the game expects you to do a little of the story, then a few odd jobs for your guilds or other adventuring, then pick back up with the story later. It's not really made to be done all in one sitting.

I suggest you try this page: http://www.uesp.net/dagger/hints/daghint.shtml you'll find a complete walkthrough and lots of hints
Also try this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c30kq0n0T5w maybe you'll consider to make a new character after watching, I did and now I am almost invincible.

You will need silver to beat a werewolf.

That's a cool video, but I'd say also add a weakness to paralysis too. You're already immune to it as a High Elf.

So adding a weakness to paralysis wouldn't negate the immune to paralysis high elfs have?

Nope. It would do absolutely nothing. But since you are adding a disadvantage, it gives you points to spend on other things, such as another advantage, or whatever.

Pretty much. It changes that difficulty slider on the right of that one side. Some say that a patch fixes that, but I've never had that with the most recent patch. Maybe one of the earlier ones did, but I haven't with 1.2.
