Possible buged quest?

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 3:08 am

Some dude did tell me that if i get some scroll for him he will say me the truth about this storm on begining of the game. I search again and again, i check everything in that dungeon... The scroll simply does not exist, just its not there.

So screw about the storm, who cares anyway.

The usual reason for that symptom is that the quest time limit expired, and the quest item went with it. If you no longer have the log entry, that would confirm it.

No, i have 20 more days to comply. He give me a month.

I Took an other quest for Arkay Temple in the middle (may be i shoudnt). It took me something about 6 days.

edit. How does this scroll looks like anyway: it appear in a chest, in a daeroth loot, or simply are in the ground?

I'm not certain about this particular quest, but in general, a quest item placed in a dungeon will be an over-sized version of what you'll see in your inventory. Any notes, letters, recipes, maps, scrolls etc show as a piece of slightly curled parchment. They're on their own, not in a loot pile, but sometimes they can be held in the inventory of an enemy. If you have not been told to kill someone holding it, then it will just be on the ground, shelf, box or whatever is the dungeon's quest item location. I don't remember any situations of "in a chest" in Daggerfall.

If you have "cheatmode 1" enabled in your z.cfg, then you can cycle through the quest item locations in the dungeon with the [ and ] keys. Many dungeons have them behind secret doors, or you need to take an elevator to reach them.

...And there's the rare dungeon where it's physically impossible to reach the quest location from the entrance. In that case the cycle "cheat" is pretty much your only option. You'll know you're in the right area, though, if you fight a daedroth... unless there are a bunch of others in the dungeon, of course, in which case that wouldn't help.
