I doubt it. Maybe if you somehow hire a follower to do all the work, then yes. But there are parts in the MQ in which you're all alone, and kinda have to kill someone.

As a Mr. Gutsy robot would say, "That's a negative commander!" Unless you get Charon immediatly and then giving him PA somehow, getting him to kill EVERYTHING and at a certain point (I don't know how to use the spoiler button) you run past everything in a certain point. It might be possible BUT you'd have to do ONLY the MQ because others have killing. Oh yeah, but you couldn't anyway because at the start where the overseer is...yeah..

Nope. Unless you get a companion to do it all for you -- but that's probably more trouble than its worth.

Thankfully, New Vegas will cater for you pacafists. :D

Tranquility Lane might be the hardest depending on how you define you killing someone.

I hope not, going through a game like Fallout and not killing a single person... damn hippies.

To clear the basemant for that part of the MQ you can use a follower, the only part where I really think it would be difficult is at Raven Rock but no spoilers.

Yes. It takes patience, a follower for at least one quest and maybe a few Stealth Boys but it can be done.

You could always do the fail safe. But hell they're 200 years old anyway, they're already dead.

But no,you cannot. As somebody said, in the waters of life you HAVE to clear out the building of super mutants.

But why you would want to be Gandhi, when almost every other living thing wants you dead is beyond me.

Yes. In fact, it is possible to complete the game (not including DLCs) without killing anything except for that one radroach at the beginning. You're gonna be running a lot though.... And there's a point later in the MQ where I can't believe that you can get out without killing someone, but I have read here on the forums of several people who have done this. Personally, I like killing things.

Spoiler
Ah, but the really messed up thing is that if you follow the creepy little girl's instructions you have to run and around and slaughter everyone (as well as earlier killing one person), but the actual people survive that way. If you use the failsafe, you are actually killing them. So either way, you end up doing some killing.

Spoiler
Not really, either way they die. If you don't do the fail safe, you end up having to be the pint sized slasher and killing them yourself. Even though the actual people aren't dead it still counts as killing them. The fail safe just ends the simulation, and their long nightmare. Rather than call it killing them, it's letting them sleep.

So, what, you just sit on your butt and watch the BoS dudes get kicked around by the Behemoth at Galaxy News Radio? Boo. :meh:

yeah, there are a couple of spots where the game won't continue unless you eliminate severe threats to your friends/family/allies.

All talk of hippies aside, it is REALLY hard to get past some of the characters in their enclosed spaces. Waaaaaay harder than just gunning 'em down, and therefore very entertaining gameplay. And if you get stuck and are getting frustrated, you can always just say, "I didn't want to have to do this..." in a sad, calm voice... and bust out the ol' Xuan Long. :gun:

it would probably be extremely difficult, and not fun at all. One of the main reasons i love Fallout 3, is because there are so many enemies to fight and such such a wide variety of ways to kill them.

wow, that must have taken a few stimpaks... but when *SPOILER*
Spoiler
there's the part where you escort some scientists from a lab to a big project, and when you get to the door the main guy says, "we can't go in until it's safe"

-- what can you do then? You have to 'check them out' as the helicopter guy says in Apocalypse Now, just prior to firing a missile at the problem.

Or at--

Spoiler
the big battle at GNR--
-- they won't open the door 'til it's safe, so you can't get info you need. If you don't already know the story, you're stuck.

By the way, having a follower do your killin' for you is pretty much the same as having your Shotty do the killin', IMO. :P
