Is it possible to confuse the game?

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 11:26 pm

Both me and my girlfriend playes this game. I like it rough and hardcoe and she likes to run around picking flowers, mixing potions and fighting once in a while.

If I install mods that flavours my kinda playstyle but not hers, can I just turn them off when she's playing and on when I do, without confusing the game by turning mods on and off all the time? Is there anything I should be aware of, or something?

Thanks in advance

Kinda possible, in a way, yes.

Anyway, the best solution I've seen is this: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1142151-rel-mtes4-manager/

As far as I understand it, turning mods on and off with the same save can potentially cause problems. Keep in mind I say can and potentially, I've deactivated mods and continued on with my saves without any noticable problems before, but it could cause problems at times, I'd imagine it depends a lot on what the mod does, and other circumstances, but as long as you make sure to activate all the right mods when you play and she uses all the right mods when she does so, I'd imagine you're probably safe. Of course, it's always possible that you might forget to turn on some of the mods that you're using, or turn off some of the mods she uses that you don't want. Even if this doesn't cause any bugs or glitches, it could lead to undesired results such as losing things in your game or having things you don't want appear, but usually, the game will give you a warning if you try to load a save when one or more of the mods used with it is not active, but the game won't tell you if you're using mods you did not have active when you last saved, so I'd just recommend being careful, which I guess is always good advice when playing a heavily modded Oblivion.
