Possible to dial down the detect life glow?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 4:45 am

While it's cool to have it, I find it visually annoying. I am wearing a ring that boosts my health stats and such but also has detect life. Because I dislike that bright pink/purple glow, I tend not to wear the ring. Are there any mods that dminish the intensity and scope of the glow? Thanks.

A quick search on TESNexus came up with several options, but none look too promising to me. http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2280 looks the best, but it doesn't work on invisible enemies apparently. The only one I found on TESAlliance just changes the color, not removing the obtrusiveness of the shader itself.

I was going to make a post about this too. It annoys the hell out of me that detect life.

Here is a highly unobtrusive one, but I don't use it because it's /too/ subtle.

If they could just make the default cloud smaller it would be good.

Im secretly hoping there'll be something new with OBGEv3, all the other ones seem to be missing something or have bugs.

I'm using this one:

Lots of options. Giving plenty of scope to find one that is less annoying.

I'll let him get the work finished before I make a request.

I tried this one before too but it's still too obtrusive.

Personally i always like to use this one.

This one is also very nice in my opinion, but may not be for every one since it will make very clear who/what approaches.

I've just uploaded my personal version to TESNexus as http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38657.

I just tweak the original effect to make the clouds to start small, get larger, and fall toward the ground. That keeps the effect away from NPC faces and reduces how much of the effect is obscuring their bodies. But it's still there and I have no problem seeing it in dimmer lighting, but can practically ignore it in brighter lighting when I'm standing near the NPCs.

From the dialog view it looks like the little clouds are being breathed out and falling down instead of a cloud hiding their faces.
