possible fix for people with ATI cards

Post » Sun Mar 07, 2010 6:28 pm

I was having framerate issues during combat but after doing this, I get much faster framerates and it rarely stutters.

Go to the CCC (catalyst control center) and force AA to 4X and AF to 16X. Next, disable AA and AF in the game options.

I found this on the gamefaqs forums so I don't take credit, but it sure did help me.

I also had to do this.

Almost thought AA was not working after I tried this..everything was buttery smooth.

So I did comparisons standing next to a power line ( with wires hanging down ) and compared the jaggies... AA on..AA off..etc ( Game AA and CCC forced AA )

Yep forced AA and AF works just fine...

Between this fix and the dll fix...it's ultra buttery.

This worked well for me as well. Do you guys get random video driver crashes while in the Pipboy, or random black screens while playing Caravan?

I do get a game freeze from time to time that will fix itself if I minimize then maximize the game. I've had it happen 5 times now. Only once did it not come back and fully locked up in my task bar. (Couldn't maximize.)

I am assuming it's a video driver hiccup but I never get any notifications to a problem so just an assumption on my part.

I just disabled AA and AF in the launcher and forced both with CCC. The game is running very fluid now, you rock!

Sounds like the same thing. Sometimes I can recover others I have to close the game in task manager. Sometimes I get a message saying the video driver stopped working and has recovered.

Exactly what DLL fix are you talking about and can you link it to me? If the thing I mentioned works for me and you, the dll might help me too.
