So I recently read an article on how the issue for "Rimlag" on Skyrim for PS3 was not due to save file size as many had suspected. It was instead mostly due to the fact that the player had too much going on in the game world i.e. having too many quests going on at the same time and not completing or failing them. I thought that maybe, just maybe this would help my issues in New Vegas with Freezing/Lag. I am now making sure to have no more than 2-3 quests going at any given time and even after playing for 3 hours straight yesterday on my level 24 character I did not freeze up at all. I did however have a few lag spikes in certain areas but moving into a new area and then back fixed the issue. I try not to play too long without saving and restarting so my system does not overheat but I think my new technique might actually be working. I hope this helps some of you who, like me, are just finding out about this game and think it's awesome.
