Possible glitches have me avoiding quests

My current play through has a glitch, or I think it's a glitch, at the Temple of the Union during Head of State. I don't get Hannibal or anyone else to do anything after giving the poster to Cabel and relating to Hannibal that the Mutants are gone. If I go to sleep/wait, then they'll be gone from there, apparently heading to the meetup at the station, but here's where my glitch is strange. I cannot fast travel-period.

I have yet to walk the entire distance back to the meeting, as I"ve been putting it off, and doing other things. So, has this happened to others( I didn't find any other threads that had the "You cannot fast-travel from here" topic.) and is walking the entire way my only option, save for 'console' quest updates? Fortunately, this is the PC version and I can cheat it, but I'd really like to see this through without that, if possible.

I also ran into a problem that I erased, and will try once I see my question answered.( Or not. hehe) When I get to the "freeze up" point at Oasis, where the HUD disappears and you can't move or click on anything, I have tried the "tcl" remedy, but that doesn't seem to work there. Anywhere else, and I can get out of being stuck, no problem, but there, the only directions I could move was up or down, which of course does nothing to help that problem. Unlike the Head of State issue, I restarted my playthrough before I'd found Oasis, so I can do it via a different route, if that is what's causing my freezing issue. I'm level 24, so starting all over would be kinda disappointing, though I'm sure I'll get over it. :hubbahubba:

For some reason, Temple of the Union seems to have a large "bubble" within which you may not fast travel. What I do is walk some distance up the street and then I am allowed to FT. Mind you, I then had to stand and wait for a number of hours for them to show up at the station, but it interrupted my wait to be addressed by Hannibal.

By "freeze up point at Oasis" , do you mean when you're told to stand by the basin and drink the sap? You shouldn't be using console commands at all to get past that point. Drink the sap, pass out, wake up and go talk to Harold.

Sorry for my not being specific, but it is the point heading toward the chain link fence, after having both vials and talking to Treeboy already. There is point that commonly causes the player to freeze in place, with no HUD displayed at all, and no movement, other than turning in place. I found out that most use the console command "tcl" in order to move their character to the fence, thus allowing them to continue the quest. My character wouldn't oblige, instead only moving up, to the sky, or down into the ground. Weird, and like I said, I haven't started it yet in this play through, so if there is another way to complete this, maybe going in the entrances/talks in some order. Or I can skip it. That's not gonna break my heart too much, since I did get to talk to the tree, and see greenery in Fallout3.

Thanks Skirt, that's what I was hoping to hear; I got all this Lincoln stuff to sell, and as a saintly figure, I gotta get them to right guy.

Almost forgot; "tcl" works for me any other time I use it for getting out of stuck places.

Yes, I noticed the "bubble" too. I don't know if it's a bug or purposely set up that way, but no big deal: just walk a few seconds away from the Temple of hteUnion and then you can FT.

Big probleim I had with this quest is that HH never shows up at the LM as promised. I mean, I waited a few hours. The pointer on the compass and the one on the local map showed him to be as a specific point near the station nearby, but I couldn't see him..

I had to wait a really long time on the cursor for him to show up. I cranked the "wait" to 24 hours and then as I mentioned, I was interrupted in the wait and the quest was completed. I think at least 6 "hours" had passed before he showed.

Try waiting for a week or two. If you follow them on their route to the Lincoln Memorial, you will find that they take the most torturous, out-of-the-way journey. Fyi, if you do decide to follow them and protect them, save a lot. Out of 10 times of escorting them, only once have I managed to keep them all alive. So, wait longer. And yes, they go to a metro station just to the side of the memorial, not at the actual memorial itself.

I've always wondered if the bubble around the Temple was to prevent enemies from spawning too close and wiping them out(if the enemies have ranged weapons). I know they wouldn't have to worry about melee enemies as the gate closes behind you when you leave, but a well-placed missile can pretty much ruin the quest!
