Possible locations for expansions

I think a logical place to start would be revamping all the skill trees. That way we can have ones that are not completely useless & others that don't break the game.

I don't think the patch will alter gameplay mechanics. Seeing as many people are able to max their skills real fast I'm also start to wondering if we will get something akin to "New vegas" that it's entirely separate from Skyrim. Think of Skyrim: New Solstheim :)

I'd love to see Morrowind again, but I bet it's out of the question...

They probably make some sort of a giant mountain passage cave that will be the playable expansion.

I'd enjoy seeing mainland Morrowind since the various catastrophes in Vvardenfell.

But it would seem kinda strange going back to Morroiwnd at all, and all people would do is complain how it's not like it was in TES 3.

Considering that, I wouldn't mind going back to High Rock or Hammerfell, if only for something on the scale of the Shivering Isles. Maybe we could see some of the Empire v Dominion action happening first hand in Hammerfell? However, I wouldn't expect them to add an entire province, though it would be amazing for them to do so. It's been so long since a game has gotten an expansion of that sort of size and quality.

A battlefield situation in Hammerfell would also give them ample excuse to cut off parts of the province (due to the previous Dominion occupation) so they can build an appropriate amount of content for DLC. Just a realistic insight, heheh.

I'm probably the only one who does not want to see anything Morrowind related for the dlc. Nostalgia is great and all, but let's move on.

Here's a map of Tamriel: http://images.uesp.net/c/c3/TamrielMap.jpg Any if the surrounding provinces is too big to be implemented entirely in an expansion.

Orsinium (mountain zone between Skyrim/High Rock/Hammerfell) or West morrowind look doable. I checked again the location of the two gates from Skyrim into Morrowind and they're exactly at the top and the bottom of the small strip of Morrowind west of Vvanderfell. If Bethesda won't do it, I think it's a perfect opportunity for modders to undertake a project of manageable size (not too big and overly ambitious).

Boarding a ship to take you to elsweyr would be nice. . . something arid as well as tropical would be a pretty cool contrast to skyrim.

Guys... TES is running out of provinces! It's clear that each new game (except Arena) is set in one province. People wishing to see an entire new province in an expansion are bound to a big letdown. I looked around in other boards and a lot of people think the city of Blacklight and its surroundings are the most probable candidate.

Speculation time. I feel it's significant that there is one quite deliberately open archway (or are there two? I've been hearing there are two) leading towards Morrowind (does the other lead toward Cyrodiil?). If there are indeed two archways, I find it even more significant, because I seem to recall Bethesda stating they'll be developing two substantial DLCs.

Remember what Obsidian did with some of the new DLC areas in New Vegas? The passageways were there before any of the DLC was released — you just couldn't use them. As the DLCs were released, the passageways became functional. I personally feel this is what the open archway(s) signify in Skyrim. Bethesda isn't Obsidian, but I don't believe they failed to notice how Obsidian developed New Vegas.

Returning to Morrowind as DLC would make far more sense for Bethesda than visiting a province we've never seen before. For future TES games, they're probably better off not showing us any of Elsweyr/Summerset Isles/et cetera, saving them until the actual games set in those regions are developed and released.

Also, there is one song taken directly from Morrowind in the soundtrack. Another hint? Isn't there also one song taken from Oblivion in Skyrim? Perhaps we'll get one DLC in each of these areas. Makes sense — finish off the Imperials in Cyrodiil (or help them win), maybe the Thalmor move into Morrowind to do something nefarious and we can solve the Red Mountain mystery, something along those lines.

This speculation isn't PURELY a result of the extra landmasses that were discovered, but that's what started all the hubbub on the Internet. My money is on a revisiting of Morrowind (probably not Vvardenfell) and Cyrodiil (probably centered around the Imperial City). If we get to go back to Morrowind, I'll mail my wallet to Todd Howard.
