Possible to play offline?

Post » Sat Jan 11, 2014 4:06 am

Just wondering if its possible to take a look at the game "Offline"? I'm working most of the weekend and though I'll definitely get a chance to play a bit, it won't be as much as I want. Just curious if there's a way to sneak into one of the worlds and walk around. Only if its not breaking the EULA of course.

No, it's an MMO, everything is online and there is no offline mode.

I dont think you could do it because it is an "online" game. Connecting to server to play the game is a must.

I was just hoping I could load up one of the environments through a console command or something. Yes I realize its an MMO but most of the game is Client based which means its technically sitting there on your HD.

Also it would be breaking the EULA to use a 3rd party program to run the environments, even sans all characters and items, even if just to have a nice look around at the terrain and graphics

I'm sorry, you rarely get around the "O" in "MMORPG"

I wasn't wanting to use a third party program... just load up a map in the game itself. No worries, just thought I'd ask to see if its possible. Guess I'll have to wait for some free time on Sunday morning

And you can do it with Hawken actually - just using the developer console and the Open command. Hardly opens the door for cheats and hacks., you're just loading the map file and running it on your comp not making any changes to the game itself.

Hawken and TESO are not the same type of game. They both have an online mode, but they are far apart.

The world is, yes, usually though all your character information is kept on their servers as far as I know though. One reason they do so is to stop people hacking their own characters and giving them silly amounts of gold etc etc. Hacking/exploiting/cheating/gold-selling is a huge problem in many online games. There won't be any console commands as you know them in the online game as well.
