is it possible to say does ref target uses range weapon or m

i work on my dynamic xp mod and on of the good multiplier could be using weapon or not since long range foes are harder than melee or unarmed , so i is it possible with geck/fose function to tell what kind of weapon is target using (hmmm which was its active weapon when its had die )
