(Possible spoilers) Tomb Raider made me miss Skyrim

Post » Tue Feb 18, 2014 11:40 am

I started playing Tomb Raider (2013) a few days ago and finished it yesterday. During the course of the game I recognized three voice actors from Skyrim and noticed one possible easter egg.

1. Vladimir Kulich who voiced Ulfric Stormcloak (voices Vladimir and Solarii)

2. Thor Edgell who voiced Malecommoneraccented, like Rolff Stone-Fist and Torsten Cruel Sea (voices Solarii)

3. Robin Atkin Downes who voiced Brynjolf (voices Captain Conrad Roth)

And the possible eater egg: You can get a "perk" that makes Lara stick an arrow in a foe's knee to incapacitate them briefly and if you do this 25 times you get the "Former Adventurer" achievment. Former adventurer being the LDB from Skyrim?

Playing that game made me miss Skyrim even more, lol. Funny how playing a game for so long makes you able to "find" certain voice actors in other games.

I loved the arrow in the knee reference. Never got the achievement for it though.

When I played Tomb raider and hear one of the characters I instantly said to my brother "that sounds like Ulfric."

didn't recognize the other 2 voices.

Fallout NV is the only other thing that I've heard Laura Bailey's voice in.

Brynjolf's voice was the first I recognized (because the captain speeks way before any Solarii do)

Laura Bailey also voices "The Boss" (Female voice 1) in both SR3 and SR4 :)

Serana also voices the female elf (can't remember her name right now) in Lord of the Rings: War in the North :D Her 'I'm out of power', is almost as annoying as her 'who's there?!' in Skyrim :D

Yeah, I also recognized Ulfric's VA. As if it wasn't enough hearing him in Skyrim. :P

I also got the knee reference though I didn't get the trophy for it.

You're saying it like it's a bad thing :P Then again to each their own! I however very much like Vladimir Kulich's voice.

I had recognized a couple of those voices.

Its nice to see actors with great voices lending them to the video game world.

Has the arrow in the knee meme really become THAT popular? By Alduin...

*Hisses*

That's Paul Eiding, not Thor Edgell. What kind of moron doesn't recognize Paul Eiding?

/jk

Seriously, though, Rolff and Septimus (and that old guy from Sovngarde) are voiced by Paul Eiding. Frankly his voice is starting to be insufferable to me, like Tara Strong's.

It was kinda the opposite for me, actually. I recognized a lot of familiar voice actors in Skyrim, like Jason Mardsen(or Tino Tonitini as I knew him), Laura Bailey (or Toruh Honda/Marta Lualdi as I knew her), Stephen Russel(Garret), André Sogliuzzo (King Bumi), Jim Cummings(Tigger!), Kari Walhgren (Raine Sage/Haruko Haruhara)...

Es a big list.

No, Thor Edgell voices Rolff. Eiding voices his brother Galmar.
