Possible Stupid Question

I have a (possible) stupid question for you guys/girls, that question being: What is the main "SPECIAL" stat used for standard (not energy) gun using characters? Is it Agility, like in previous games, or Perception?

Mostly agility, but A and P work hand in hand, as perception effects accuracy in VATS, as well as when scoped in. But agility effects damage, reload speed, action points, and general accuracy, as far as I know. I know it is kinda complicated.

Generally, it's Agility you want for guns, as a core, but a healthy bit in Perception never hurt no one.

Lots of stats work together to help you shoot and depending on what type of character you want to build will determine what stats you need to put skills into. For instance, if you want to just use large guns like the minigun you'd want to focus on Strength and Agility. If you want to be a sniper you'd focus on Perception and Agilty, . It looks like they've done a pretty good job of making all stats a lot more viable. While many people will still want to choose a dump stat, doing that could be more of a hindrance this time around.

I still don't know what shotguns fall under. So far no perk seems to deal with them.
