Is it Possible to Take a Diplomatic Approach to "Oh my P

My first account, which naturally has the most progress in Fallout: New Vegas, is currently on the quest of "Oh my Papa." This character mainly follows my personal beliefs and such, but is even more pacifist than I am(I made it a goal to fight as little as possible for the fun of it-as in I'd fight only mindless creatures that I either kill or risk getting killed by(if I simply try to run from certain ones, I'm screwed)). With 100 Speech and 9 or so Charisma, I'm naturally going to try the diplomatic approach-and know I can either convince the Khans to leave or aid the NCR in the upcoming battle at Hoover Dam.

I know, mostly, how to do this quest-that's not the problem. The problem is when I use my speech skill to trick Karl into showing his true nature in front of Papa Khan and the others-resulting in Karl's death and one of the objectives to the quest being completed. It works out well, easily, but immediately after the quest claims it has been completed-claiming I've just destroyed the Khans while they're clearly alive, and telling me to return to Colonel Moore.

Is it possible to do the quest in this particular way, still? Or does this glitch make it impossible?

Note: I'd really prefer obtaining their aid rather than just making them leave.

If you want a good ending for the Khans just convince them to break the alliance with Caesar end of story. Allying with the NCR or the Legion ends badly for them.

In any event don't worry about the dialog 'glitch' it won't effect the ending. You'll still get the right one.

I did the same thing. Lord is right, just ignore the glitched dialogue that says they're destroyed. The endgame scenes will have the ending correctly...and imho, it's the best ending for them. :)

As far as the NCR is concerned, if the Khans are not a threat, then they are out of the picture. What you tell them is beside the point.

However getting the Khans to see the truth is the only satisfying conclusion to this quest for me.
