ah ok, was a guess lol, Desmond imo is one of the better NPCs in fallout lore, pre-war ghoul who isn't obsessed with the war or controlling people, just a total badass

Because when I think "north," I think of a mother [censored] desert. (http://www.worldofhorses.co.uk/horses_usa/images/horse_for_sale_usa_map.gif US political map, NV is Nevada (far west), MD is Maryland (far northeast))

Anyways, I've wondered the same. Didn't realize Desmond said he was headed north, but House did seem like a perfect candidate for "the Game."

Whatever "the game" was, I don't think House was involved in it. He had begun sealing himself inside the Lucky 38 years before the Great War occured. He's not one for personal vendettas anyhow.

I would dislike the idea of House being a part of the Great Game.

I would like to see it link into Fallout 4 with other players who you can help or hinder but I don't think House or many people, if anybody, out west should be involved.

I don't think House ever had anything to do with Desmond and his plans.
He sealed himself up in the lucky 38 just before the war started. And he's a businessman, not a politician.

The game, whatever it was, was for politicians, spys and power players.
And sounded incredibley tedious and boring.

House is the sort of person smart people don't mess with.
And Desmonds smart enough to know better.

To be nitpicky, whoever wrote Desmond's dialogue did not know of Mr. House's existence. Sequel can refer to past games but not the other way around.

Although New Vegas could have been in the concept stages and Mr.House could have been born by the time Point Lookout was also in conception/birth.

Chances are, we'll probably see Desmond again in Fallout 4.

(I'm not sure, though, because you had the option to kill him, as well.)

As other pointed out Mr.House isn't likely to be his next target, but Anthony House (Mr.House's half brother) could be a target. We didn't find his remains at the H&H Tool Company.

I think Robert Edwin House aka Mr House, systematicaly destroyed Anthony House for taking his inheritance. He was already unstable, and he got worse each time House destroyed or took his business. I think either the feds or some other group took over, or House took over, by force. And he ended up dead or imprisoned.

You can kill Marcus (I did a few times) in Fallout 2 yet he appears in New Vegas.

I think Fallout could use a BioWare-style save import system. New Vegas would be so much interesting if you let the Enclave win in Fallout 3.

Desmond being in New Vegas is impossible. Would take much longer then 4 years to walk across the country. Plus he's heading North and Nevada is clearly in the western part of the USA.

Four years to walk across country? The Brotherhood did it in a year, real people have done it in less. Besides, given that this entire thread would have been nullified had the OP done a Google Maps search first I don't see why we're continuing to discuss this. Desmond's "Great Game" is presumably a reference to espionage between Czaris Russia and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and (then) Ireland (Long live the Union :D). Given that Desmond has himself won "the lottery of life" he was probably working for the British intelligence community and I guess his next target can be anyone Bethesda choses to invent.
